"chirping" sound on the interstate

Anyone heard this when going down the interstate at say 60plus?? It sounds like it's coming form below somewhere but not SURE. Any input would be good.

I have it. Just started about a month ago. Mine sounds like it is coming from the drivers side of the engine compartment. It is not a vibration or rattle (no different on rough or smooth roads), and does not do it at low speed.

Mine does it also. Mine started a couple of months ago, but only notice when colder. That may just be a coincidence, since every time I've been on the highway recently, it's been cold. Occurance is definitely affected by strong winds, either by nature or passing semi's. Someone attributed a similar sound to the bug deflector, which I do have. Do you?

I have the protector, and have noticed the sound too. Maybe the cold shrinks the plastic of the protector slightly, causing the sound in strong winds.

Now that I'm back in (relatively) warm Georgia, the sound has disappeared.

Re: "chirping" sound on the interstate

Mine was getting worse and more often again with the colder weather. Wiped down the weather strip at back of engine bay that seals against underside of hood (right in front of cowling) with spray silicone soaked rag. Haven't heard a chirp in a month of winter weather driving now.

Re: "chirping" sound on the interstate

I get a chirping on interstate at 60+ with winds, but mine I believe is shock related. Only happens over tar strips or light bumps. Sounds like a very short squeek that is in sync with the bump of the road.

Chirping sound on my 05 titan. At first it sounded like sleet or hail hitting windshield (wasnt sleeting, hailing or raining outside). But it seemed to be under dash. It happened twice at highway speeds.

Re: "chirping" sound on the interstate

I also have the chirping. I think it is the hood latch, if I push the hood while closed I can make it chirp. Had a very similar problem with my Xterra.
