Hello Everyone, I have been reading this forum for some time now and appreciate all the good info. I just purchased an '05 CC LE, hence my username. Anyway, all is well with the truck but was wondering about something. I get a whistle out of the engine compartment during light throttle. It sounds like an air leak around the throttle body or airbox. I opened the airbox and then reclosed it and still the same whistle. Before I dig into any farther I thought I would see if anyone else had experienced this and if it's just normal. Your input would be appreciated.
I only notice it when I gently give it throttle. I can duplicate it constantly with just a little gas. It's a whistle from the air intake somewhere. If it's not happening to anyone else then maybe I have an issue. Who knows, not a huge deal. Thanks

The noise you hear is from a vacume line in your engine. It is normal, and most larger displacement engines can generate this type of noise.
My '04 had the same noise, and so does my '06. I've been told that it's "normal" by different service departments, and I decided to let it not bother me.

it's not from tow mirrors, I have the smaller mirrors and mine does it as well. Ok, i'm at my fifth dealership and these guys called a tech engineer and they said it's the trany. I called bs on that but they're so convinced that they're replacing it.
Mine started whistling after I put the AEM intake on. Before that it did not whistle. I am gonna put electrical tape around all the connections and see if it stops whistling. If it stops then I had a leak. If not????, Thats the only thing I can think of.
I had a whistle, but it went away after I realized the cover to my air-intake wasn't completely secured (stealership delivered it to me that way but I never thought to check it).
It's the mini turbo in there!! How else do you think they're so fast. No, I've got it on mine too and I'm pretty sure it's not from the mirrors because I've got the smaller ones. I first thought it was air coming through the fender well but ruled that out. I think the vacuum line sounds like the best guess. And I think the only solution is to turn up your radio or buy a banks exhaust.
