Installed my CarbonTech Bobcat pads from the GroupBuy (Pics)

I took a few photos of the install till my hands got way to dirty to even touch my camera. On one pic you can tell the difference between the stock pad which was on the right and the new aftermarket one.

Install is 15 minutes tops. My oil change took longer. LOL!

Anyways, here are the pics, and the brakes so far after one evening of driving have improved drastically. I no longer need to give much pedal pressure to stop the truck. Much better responding brakes. Time willl tell if it solves the rotor issues. It seems to have for others.

Question How hard are the new pads?????

How hard are these pads???? I tried hard pads once and it warped the rotors faster than stock on my last truck.....with hard pads I would go with a drilled and slotted rotor to get the heat out faster....might as well change the brake lines too. When warranty is up that is what I will probably do.

The rotors were replaced one week ago by the dealer. They didn't need to be turned again. As long as they are not warped no reason to turn them.

The pads is what creates the heat. Better compound pads get rid of the heat much better than lets say the factory organic pads. These pads have been tested by others for a while with good results compared to stock pads and no warping. They have even done some hard hard braking to see if they get a problem to arise.

Cross Drilled rotors or slotted rotors do not get rid of the heat faster. A bigger rotor with better fins will. Cross drilled rotors and slotted are made to get rid of the gases between the pad and rotor, and also are made to keep the pads from glazing by scraping the pads. But in turn creates more heat due to friction.

But when you have these rotors they have less surface area so they tend to either warp or crack faster by heat.

Larger rotors and pads yes...but my only attempt with the carbon ones did not work for me in the past.
5,200 miles on stock rotors....on mountain.a$$ conditions... new TSB pad etc. at 4,200 miles but still untouched rotors!! I hope those with the carbon tech pads report miles and wear. Peace-Tom

These aren't fully carbon. Read this article for a full review..

The Bobcat is a ceramic-based friction compound that is rotor friendly, operates over a broad range of temperatures, is low dusting and makes very little noise.

They have, Do a search at clubtitan.org and you will see.
