Titan KC Vs CC (for little ones)

Well, I posted a few weeks ago that I was probably going to buy a Titan 4x4 SE CC. My job has been keeping me so busy that I haven't had the chance to do any looking. My lastest decision was to get a CC. After talking to the wife tonight I'm starting to rethink the CC.

My wife thinks we will be just fine w/a KC. She thinks the CC would be too exspensive and big for our needs in the current state. We want to have a child or two in the next year or so. (we have no children as of yet, that I know of ) LOL, I know a Titantalk member posted accouple days ago about trading his KC for a minivan. The responses helped me out too.

I think that a CC would suit our needs more that enough. Then I have to spend about $2k more, which I have no problem affording, but my wife has some issues about. She tells me to "go buy what Titan I want" but that is not what I would like to hear. I know I would probably catch hell later. I know.

I figure that w/a KC that it would probably support two baby seats OK from time to time. I would probably keep the Titan for 5 or 6 years if possible, so this wouldn't be a short term commitment. (unless our family needs really changed) The other car we have is an 04 Chrysler PT GT. That would be the primary vehicle for the babies when it happens. (just thinking a little ahead.)

Again I'm asking for Titan KC/CC owners that have little ones how they make out w/their Titans. Just like to have opinions because I value them. Looking to buy hopefully today or Monday. My parents might be visiting me because of the wife's B-day Sunday, so we will see. There is always another day. Thanks again.

If you have kids, or are thinking of having kids in the near future, I would stongly suggest the CC, I think it's worth the little extra. I have two kids and would not have bought a KC due to the limited room back there plus I did't need the longer bed. Also of note, some KC owners have said it is difficult to get the baby carriers in & out. Good luck!

The KC & CC are the same size. The CC has more interior space the KC has a bigger bed.

The nice thing about the CC is the space that is available with the seats folded up. It's split so one side and the center are one piece and the other side is the other piece. You can have two kids sitting back there and still fold up the single seat one for groceries etc.

Also, having full sized doors would be easier to deal with strapping in car seats, and placing baby junk like fold-up play pens etc. inside. That extra foot of bed length in the KC comes from the backseat.

I kind of thought of that. I really love the room of the CC. I just love the Titan period. Maybe I can convince my wife of the CC too. Thanks SarkaZm.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice, ciron. My son is 13, and my daughter is 8 now. We made it through their younger years with KC Frontiers, and I wore out the plasic lever on the seat that flipped it up on the last one.

The main thing is to get what you want. Don't worry about a couple of grand on a 30K
truck that you are going to keep for several years.

Faced same issue in June '04...at the time had a 2 yr old and a 4 month old. I was leaning towards the KC for longer bed length but also had concerns about the diminished interior space. I had worked a great price on a loaded KC but when the wife made a visit with me, she felt the CC would be a much better fit for the kids while also allowing more gear storage beneath the seats etc... After walking the lot and eyeing the Smoke CC Big Tow SE (and opting to pay a few grand more), the decision was easy.

7 months later I can tell you it was the right choice http://www.titantalk.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

Now lets see about fitting that new motorcycle in the bed....

Go with the CC. I have a 9 month year old and getting her in and out along with the car seat is a breeze in the CC. Additionally my wife sits back there frequently with her and appreciates the incredible amount of space back there. She has been known to flip down the passsanger seat and use the "desk area" as an ottoman.

I have a C.C. 3 car seats back there, if your going to keep it do the C.C. My wife thought a K.C. would be fine till the test drive. Didn't have to do anymore talking after that ride.

Go with the Crew if you can swing it! I made the stupid mistake of buying a standard cab pickup because we originally didn't want kids. Surprise!
I now have a standard cab Toyota and a Crew Cab Titan!

If you don't have a problem affording the CC, I would go with the CC. I also have a 4 year old (car seat by law still) and a 6year old (no seat) and a HUGE 13 year old (5'8 and about 155). They fit great in the back. My main concern was the 13 YOA sitting in the back. He is not cramped. I made him get in and test the KC and CC at the dealers. I also sat in the back to make sure, LOTS of ROOM. I totally agree with what everyone else wrote. Get the CC, it is so much easier dealing with the little ones too. I seriously doubt that you will catch hell if you get the CC if it's within your means. I've driven the F150 and F350 KC and it was a pain in the ARSE getting stuff in and out of the rear doors. I couldn't imagine trying to get the kids in and out of it.

My wife looked at both and said "DEFINITELY the CC." But, it's your choice and if it was me, I would get what I could afford first and what I wanted second. That is why I ended up with the CC in a XE. I could have bought the SE or LE but I figured that it would tighten the budget (well not really a budget). I just wouldn't be able to run out and buy anything that I wanted (ie...tools, lots of toys, and junk) I figure I could add most of the other stuff to it. Anyway JMHO

Again GOOD LUCK,
ICE

Get the CC, when we went Titan shopping I originally thought about a KC too, but after looking at the CC and the room, my hubby said CC only! My kids love the room back there, has more legroom than the Explorer we traded in. Our other vehicles are a 2004 Focus ZX3, that's hard being a 2 door with 2 kids, and a 99 Ram 3500 reg cab. The Titan is our family vehicle and works great for that.
