Cold Feet? (literally)

I've noticed that in my Titan my feet tend to get colder than anything else when the temps are really low.

They don't warm up for a long time... seem to get colder after starting to drive. I did put rubber mats in the for winter..

Anyone else experience this?

Thumbs up 2 vents are better than one!

I got cold feet in the beginning..and found the plastic molding around the driver foot vent was loose...snapped it back in place and now it keeps my feet ok. But only blows on the right foot=bad design. My last truck also had a small adjustable vent directly above my feet....that was the best for heating and cooling. Peace-Tom

Yea I noticed this too. I usually set the heater knob to Def/Floor, or between that and Def. Also noticed drafts while turning. Have done absolutely nothing about it

raskm,

You should post this mod for everyone to see. If you don't want to do that, just send them to me.

My feet are cold too! Increase the fan and direct all the heat to the floor this helps but isn't comfortable in the rest of the cab.

yes my feet are cold. ticks me off a little. also, my drivers side vents are not nearly as strong as the passenger side vents (in the dash i mean). anyone know about that situation? it's almost like there's something blocking the duct that leads to the drivers side.

ROFLMAO!!!

Mine gets plenty hot. Even when the vent is directed to the floor only. We having been averaging below 0 temps here lately, too. When I am not working, I generally wear shorts and a hooded sweathshirt. Been that way since I was in high school. I wear shorts year round...

It was 9 this morning in NJ and my feet did not warm up until 2 minutes before I got to work

Has anybody brought this to the attention of a service department ? Maybe they have some type of fix for it

I was just noticing the same over the last couple days. Been in the teens in MD all week. Seems I have to leave the fan on high for at least 1/2hr when starting my commute to get the cabin warm and my feet never get warm even with the fan on high and fully directed to the floor. The only logic I can find for this is that the floor drivers side heat duct is about at knee level...being that heat rises the hot air from the floor duct is just rising up into the cabin rather than making to the floor and my feet.

Funny thing is that my Dodge Dakota the floor heat duct blew directly on my right foot on the accelerator...my right foot would get burning hot, drove me crazy.

I've only had the Titan for a few weeks but it seems like the fan is a bit underpowered compared to other vehicles I have owned. I hope this isnt going to be a problem with the A/C in the summer? Can any of the "long-term" Titan owners attest to the A/C fan capacity in the summer?

Been in the single digits here in PA and I've noticed the 'problem?'

Part of this may be due to some of us having the KingCab and others having the Crew.

I don't think the fan is underpowered on my Crew, I just have to turn it up high and it's too damn noisy!!! Also always switching from floor to dash to defrost. The right blend just doesn't seem to be there when it gets real cold.

For how often it's this cold I plan on living with it. Not the best but could be worse.

You guys saying your feet are cold for 1/2 hour have a legitimate beef and I think I have some idea for improvement: Plug up the rear floor ducts under the front seats if you have them. A rag should work ok. Then pull them out for passengers in the back. If you have vents/controls in the back that you can turn off, do it. Hope it helps.

Something else I've been thinking.

This is arguable, but the engine runs cooler with synthetic oil. I have synthetic oil in mine, anyone else???

One thing to be aware of - The heating system won't open the water valve to the heater core until the engine temp is up. (This info is in the owners manual). So in very cold weather the heater won't blow any warm air until the engine is up to temp.

Maybe if you take out the in-cabin microfilters, that would improve the flow rate. Anybody try this??
