why i'm getting a dodge - Canada who??

sorry to say, i cancelled my order for a Titan. no whining, but bottom line, i don't like the way Nissan Canada sells Titans here in Canada, and i'm getting a much better price and deal for the dodge.

i was sold on the Titan, and i think it's a great truck, but not so much better that i'm willing to pay whatever they want, and wait forever to get my truck.

everyone has an opinion, so here's mine. i drove both trucks, and liked them both. i liked the look of both, and the performance. i originally went with the Titan because i was concerned about the reliability and overall quality of the dodge.

for the amount of money i'm saving, a lot can go wrong with the dodge before i'm even close to what i would have paid for the Titan. and in 2005, having done some homework, i think the dodge is an improved truck vs. previous years.

Nissan isn't selling very many trucks here in Canada, and from what i have learned it's because they don't care if they do. the US market is everything, and Canada is an after thought. so, they don't offer any incentives, make their truck more expensive than the competition, and at least with my dealer, give lousy service even before you've got the truck.

will be getting my new dodge sometime in Feb. i enjoy this forum, and find it helpful regardless of what you drive. i'll still remain a member because i like the Titan, and if the dodge turns out to be a lousy truck, maybe i'll get a Titan after all.

rant is over -

Boo...
Good luck with that Dodge. I hope you get to finally drive a truck even if it is a Dodge.

Good luck to you, sorry Nissan of Canada is such a pain.

We all love trucks, hope yours turns out to be what you hoped for.

Keep us posted and let us know how it goes with your new truck (even if it's a Dodge, LOL.)

Good luck with the Ram, it is a great looking truck. What trim level and how much is it? I like the 6 foot bed on the Quad Cab but the rear seat is as small as my Frontier Crew Cab.My kids need the extra legroom. Nissan gave those inches to the cab instaed of the bed.

thanks guys, yeah it'll be great to finally have any truck! i've been driving a bmw for a few years now, and with a new baby, i was finding it way too small, ie hard on my back bending into a small car.

having read today that article on the four trucks, i'm a little relieved to see that at least the dodge had some good showings. i was a little surprised to see the ford do as well as it did. i found that with the f150, there were too many options to choose from, so you can never be sure just what you're gonna get. that's another area the Nissan wins - just three trim levels so easy to choose.

i'm getting an 05 QC Laramie in black. i'll keep everyone up to date on how the dodge is running, or if it's not running at all!

Canadian I wish you well with your Ram,
I had one and after staying in the shop for 91 of the first 180 days of ownership Dodge finally purchased it back from me.
I almost had a stroke after going through all the BS that I went through. Since then I have only bought toyotas and now working on A Titan.

Just a question. If you lived close to the USA border what would stop you from crossing over and buying in the States? We go up there and buy prescription drugs.
Just curious?
There was a guy from some other country that was looking at buying a Titan here in the states and having it shipped.

Congrats on finally getting a Truck.

Nissan does not make more vehicles than they can sell. They also have the most profit
per vehicle. Detroit has a hard time controlling the number built versus demand thus
the great deals on certain big 3 trucks. Some of this comes from labor contracts that
make it impossible for the big 3 to shut down a factory when demand fall because they
still have to pay the workers. It is a difficult situation at this time but Nissan has very
good control on build versus demand.

Good luck EH. We vacation on occasion and have pilgramages to the HOckey Hall of Fame. Things are a bit different up there. I got a better deal on the Titan in Missouri........and the damn Dodge is made in St Louis. I know people that work at the plant that won't buy a Dodge. I'm sure it goes both ways but I don't know anyone at the Nissan plant.

Hey CanadianTitan, I had a 2004 Titan and traded it in November for a new 2004 Ram Hemi, I really like the Ram alot and with nearly 4,000 miles it's been trouble free - time will tell, but I really like it.

Nothing like a dealer to sour someone on a brand. For that very reason I will not own another new GMC product! Customer Service is one of the most, if not the most important item when buying a new vehicle.

You just can't stress that enough. But it seems to be the last thing that people think about, and by then it's to late.
