Pickin' up the truck tomorrow and just want a little feedback from you all to understand if I got a good deal or not. The wife doesn't believe I did, but according to Edmunds.com, I did.
It's a '05 CC LE with bed extender and rubber floor mats.
Edmunds prices it as follows: (this is without tax, title, and fees)
MSRP: $33,260
Invoice: $30,073
TMV: $31,670 (total market value)
I got the truck at $29,887.66. With the T&T + fees = $31,283.28 ==> out the door.
To sweaten the deal a little more, the dealer gave me pinstripes, underbody coating, paint sealant, interior stain guard, mud guards, and a utilitrack tray for free.
Most of the dealer extras are BS but it still looks like a good deal to me; after all, you paid a few hundred dollars under invoice. Tax and title is not in control of the dealer for the most part.
It depends; some dealers refuse to budge on the doc fee on priniciple and on cost recovery. You could always see if they'll drop the price of the truck $249 to cover the doc fee.
I just tried getting a quote from another dealer accross town and he quoted me $29K OUT THE DOOR!!!! I can't believe it! He even came down $500 more than what I offered! What a change of events! So, I can get an '05 LE CC FRONTIER from them for $29!
What a bunch of idiots! I talked to him on the phone and specifically told him Titan and he quoted me a Frontier! I didn't find that out till I was about to get off the phone and I asked 1 more time about the 'Titan'. He said "OH, you meant Titan? I'm going to have to call you back. Let me crunch a few numbers."
I'm a little confused - the truck that you asked about at the beginning of this post was a Frontier? I assume that means you hadn't actually picked out a specific truck, just got some kind of quote on the telephone?
I don't know if that's an Edmunds number or what, but I think that is incorrect.... the MSRP on my 05 CC LE was around 37K.... the invoice was pretty close though to what you have..... and that looks like a good deal to me...
Go_Vols, does your price quote include the $1,000 rebate? Where are you buying from, I can't find anyone to come near invoice.
I bought mine in Lexington at Glenn Nissan for $153 over invoice. I think if I wanted to make another trip to the dealer i could have gotten it a little lower, but I thought it was a fair deal. The sales manager said they would sell anything on their lot to me for $300 over invoice. Maybe give them a call.
got mine in nicholasville at superior nissan, tried dealing with glenn but couldnt. i got it through the vpp plan it was almost a 1000 under invoice. i had them down to about 300 under invoice before i told them to give me a price with the vpp plan and it was alot better. the salesman told me that the paint sealant and the interior protection was bs they use it to bump the msrp and then take it off to seem like you are gettin a steal. i also thought le's come with mud guards.

Well, I picked it up on Saturday. I called accross town on Friday to see if I could get them to be the deal I was getting at Jim Burke. The guy told me that he'd sell me one at 29 out the door, but he couldn't find one to dealer trade. He told me that they'd be getting a white one in sometime during February, but he was "too busy at the time to write the deal on paper." From what I understand, this dealer is infamous for pulling stuff like this, then jacking the price up on you once you've blown your deal with the other dealer. What a bunch of BS! I'm never going to that dealer again. I gotta hand it to Jim Burke though b/c they put up with more BS from me and I still got what seems to be a good deal on the truck.
My wife and I are trying to think of stupid errands to run around town just to have an excuse to take the truck out! I 'wowed' a couple of my co-workers when I took them around the block earlier today too. I've also noticed a bunch of people eyeballing me (or maybe the truck ) as I drive around town. I can get used to this type of attention!
