I remember reading on here that Nissan is recommending 75W-140 synthetic for ALL rear diffs. There have also been posts where service departments have refilled '04 diffs with the 75W-140 because Nissan changed their recommendation/requirement. The new '05 Finned diff cover requires 75W-140 Synthetic.

I just used MOBIL-1s 75.90 as recommended in the owners manual. However Nissan has apparently switched to the 140 on newer Titans. I think the 75/90, so long as its' synthetic, will be more than enough. besides.....try and find the 140 weight. It's out there but no easily found.

I decided to let the guys at the dealership do mine. These guys are cool, and most of them own Titans. When I went to go and change my fluid, I noticed that it was seeping out around the diff and cover. I called the dealership and they told me that it needs to be re-sealed. I'm hoping that when they re-fill it, they use the new synthetic stuff. For those who have taken their Titans to be checked out or serviced (per diff issue), did the dealership automatically change the fluid to the synthetic stuff? Is there a no. for the new fluid? I remember seeing it with the new diff cover no., but I can't seem to find it. I'd really appriciate any help, so when I take the Titan in, I can have the diffs re-filled with the new fluid. If not, I'll just take my own in.

aloha, Derrick
