12v power in the bed?

I bought a left over 2004. Got a good deal but was unable to get the utility bed options. My question is, are all the trucks wired for that remote 12volt outlet. If I punched through, would I find a plug to wire one in aftermarket? This would be a great option to add.

Good question but you have 3 12V power ports inside the truck (CC models). I haven't used the one in the bed but once. I'll give a look on the service manual CD and see if it notes anything. If it does, I'll let you know.

Fishing / Camping

I do a lot of fishing from the beach at night, it would be nice to plug in a lantern instead of buying "D" Cells in bulk!

From the pics on the service manual CD, no, it's not prewired. But I've yet to figure this CD out 100%. It can get confusing.

If you've installed the relays that go with a trailer hitch, you
have a hot 12 volt on terminal 5 of the 7-pin male connector.
If you don't have a hitch installed, the cable bundle is tucked up
under the rear bumper. It already has a 7-pin male connector
and your Dealer can tell you which relay you need to activate the
hot 12 volt. You should be able to tap into the terminal 5 wire
and then connect to a cigarette lighter receiver.

Or for those of us with the tow package, you could just get one of these and call it a day:

Where would the console one be on a KC? I only know of the two on the dash.

Cool... glad some of you found that little adapter link useful. Let me know how it works out. I'm curious if they run live all the time like the stock in-bed plug, or if you have to maybe turn on the parking lights or leave the key turned on to ACC.
