I haven't seen much on this topic, but the other night I was driving down a dark country road, and it just hit me...MY GOD are these headlights great. They light up the road light daylight.
They're actually almost TOO bright. I get flashed every so often on 2 lane roads, because people think I have my high beams on. At first I thought my alignment was off, but I got that checked. Also, I've driven in my other car while my wife drove my Titan behind me (yes, she gets her turn driving it, too!) and I do have to say those headlights are blinding in the rearview mirror.
Well, after the lousy lights on my Tundra, this is a welcome change. In deer country, it's sure nice to be able to light up the road at night.

I absolutely agree. I live in MA but travel up to the mountains in NH almost every weekend. Those back roads can be really dark but flip on the highs and it's like daytime - gotta love it. Definitely pays to keep the lens clean in this weather though. BTW, I was up there last weekend sitting at a light and noticed one Titan behind me as another one rounded the corner. Starting to see them everywhere now.
I'm going to get the Silver Star bulbs for the low beams soon.....well, I gotta pick my truck up from the dealer tomorrow too, but the bulbs will come shortly! :-)
I like the fact that the low beams stay on with the high beams. Extremely good light.

Is there a legal-limit?????????
I put the SilverStars on the low beams....they are great......and the stock high-beams are excellent. Is there a limit to how bright you can go...like the HID's????? and how would they gauge the limit?????? Peace-Tom

Just a warning. My Titan had the lights misadjusted from the factory. They had them
just a little bit high. Also remember when you load the bed they will be even higher.
Since I had them adjusted properly the flashing lights has almost been eliminated. I
still get flashed every once in a while but not like before.
This is a mixed kit actually, that I bought on ebay for a STEAL of a price.
They have Hella ballasts (best you can get) and they are unknown 7000K bulbs (even though the light looks white on ground, still have a blue-ish hue if you are looking head on.
Recommendations:
Hella or Philips ballasts with Philips bulbs. Do not go above 6000K in color temp b/c you will actually scatter more light that way...imagine that in that picutre, the light could potentially be 200-400 lumens brighter. Stick with 4300 for true-white light or 6000K for a blue hue.
I know some guys around here that have 'ricers' and they say the Silverstars are junk. They burn out too fast. One guy I work with has an Acura RSX and another has the big bad NSX and one went through 3 sets in 6 months (RSX) and the other went through 2 sets in 2 months (NSX). I'm not sure what other options there are but they discouraged me from purchasing those. Just my $.02

Before I got my HIDs I had silverstars and then I sold them to someone else. All told they were in there for 1.5 years without blowing. Most of the time they will blow b/c they are handled incorrectly.
