Lightbulb ghost in the machine?

try this--after driving, sit in your truck for about 1-2 minutes after you have shut it completely off. the interior light will go out the flashing 'car' will be going on and off and then all of a sudden...'rrrrrrrrwwwwr' (thats the best imitation i can do) and then it does it again.

the sound is coming from behind the dash and it sounds like a electronic 'motor' resetting something. has anybody else heard this and does anyone know what it is???

i could be losing my mind (possible) or it could be the curse the dodge dealer across the street from where i bought my titan put on it when i left the lot!!! (probable)

anyone?

Check if it's coming from your CD player. That'd be my guess.

yes, mine does it too, but to me, it sounds like it's coming from under the seat. like power seat motor, but of course nothing moves.

i'd sure like a nissan tech explain it to see if it's the cd player, the a/c compressor, or some other hidden function powering down.

according the thread linked above, maybe it's the system that controls the gauges releasing air pressure or something. i have no idea what i'm saying, just brainstorming here.

I seem to remember Chris saying something about the ventilation ducts closing when you park it.

If you move the vent select dial while you're driving (with the radio off), you'll hear the same sound - pagerdaddy is on the money.

sorry guys, i don't have power seats and it makes no noise when i change the vents with the radio off. the quote off the above link makes the most sense as it is not the 'reshuffling of the cd player' either, it is coming from behind the gauges.

"comment on the noise after turning off your truck, depending on how your truck is set up (model) you are hearing the retained power relays turning off ex. after your key is turned off a timer starts you still have power to your windows and various other components until 1 you open the door or 2 the time runs out on the timer. when the time runs out on the timer the computer starts shutting things off and you hear the relays turning off. your dealer can adjust retained power settings by useing the consult scantool however this is limited usually to off or on depending on model. any ?'s you can shoot me an e-mail"

anyway, it should help to know that you can exise those dodge demons now!!!!

If you watch the gauges around that time they move up and then down, it weird. I figured my trucks just had an opinion is all, lol.

the ducts closing would not move the tach and speedo which move simultaneously with the sound behind the gauges.

The truck is simply raising its "eyebrows" at you-- likely because it thinks you've been driving too slow for its liking!!!
