Competition is a good thing - we, the consumers, should all be the winners in the long run - thank God for free enterprise & capitalism!
"Should" yes, but are we? $27g's for my Titan. Guy I work with has a wife that works for chrysler, he bought a mid grade dodge quad cab w/hemi for $15g's...
I think they are all WAY overpriced, but what can we do? Bite the bullet and pay the big $$ I guess...
Would you believe that I just bought a new house? I'll shut up, house prices are insane too...

A Quadcab ram, with a Hemi for 15k? I think he is spreading some bull$hit. Maybe thats what he financed, but thats not what he paid.
GM will spend more on advertising and hyping the new truck model than they will to improve the build quality and reliablility. And they'll sell loads of them based on a tried and true formula of styling, features, and pumping up the horsepower. It'll be enough to halt the eroding loss of sales to the others, but it won't be enough to convince anyone except the early adopters that GM has actually heeded the call to make quality job #1.
They should have worked harder to satisfy their existing base of customers, and they wouldn't have to work so hard to try and take customers away from the competition. That's why I dropped out of their fold.

Chevy/GMC has had the same basic design and same interior to their trucks and SUV's since what...the mid 90's? Around 10 years? Maybe longer, who knows, I'm not much of a Chevy buff. Its funny my '98 3500 HD has basically the same dash as a brand spanking new 2005 Avalanche.
My '98 turbo diesel 3500 is a major piece of (bleep). The kings pins always need to be replaced, the turbo stopped working for a while, the wipers dont work, the door handle came off, clutch went (understandable), and the brakes leak and lose pressure. I have spent a good amount of time cussing this truck, we dont like each other very much.
P.S. What is the difference between a GMC and a Chevy?
GM's concepts bear a resemblance to our Titan, don't they?

any joe blow can get a quad cab hemi with leather for under $20k.. check out big o dodge in greenville, sc... I only paid $25 for my titan being a nissan employee.. my truck listed for $32k.. very possible that a chrylser employee could have gotten a hemi POS for $15k.. but with all things.. you get what you pay for.. my truck is worth the extra $10k.

Whats your point? My truck stickered for 31k and I only paid 25k out the door. The dodges I looked at stickered for more and they dealer would not deal like the titans. If it could be had for less, I would probably be driving the dodge right now.
Ok, a quick run down of the "mid level" quad cab with hemi and no options at edmunds.com:
4wd quadcab with hemi package 28k True market value after 2500 rebate.
2wd quad cab with hemi package 25k true market value after 2500 rebate.
The true market value is like an average of what people are paying for that vehicle. I did those with no options but the hemi group. Show me a mfg employee that gets 10 grand off a 25k vehicle true market price.
