Warranty

Question... I'm in the market for a Titan and wonder if the extended warranty is a good idea. In your experience, were the bugs worked out in the standard warranty period? I know the extended warranty is good for peace of mind, but its added money I'd rather put elsewhere.

That's a good questions..... historically, service agreements from dealers are a bad buy, especially on used cars... on my Titan I didn't buy it but had I been around this board and seen the problems that people are having I probably would have. I do know that there is a lot of flexibility in the price... the paperwork guy started at $1800 and he was trying to give it away for about $975 in the end. That would extend the coverage to 100k with a $50 deductible. If you are serious about it you should read the fine print and find out exactly what is covered. Also, read your warrant manual that comes with the truck to see how far the coverage goes on things...

It all depends on how long you keep your vehicles. I usually keep them up to 100k and over 6 years. Every car/truck that I have had I used the warrenty after they went past 75k. It saved me many dollars. I ended up getting the 100k/6 year $50 deductable.

But ....

"If a covered part fails due in part or in whole to the failure or malfunction of an uncovered part then the covered part is no longer covered ..."
