Question Picking Up LE Tomorrow!!!!!!

Hey, I'm taking ownership tomorrow afternoon of a Galaxy Black Beauty, 4x4, with offroad, tow, dvd (for the kids) , tool box , and lsiding bed extender. I calculate MSRP to be $38,990 (invoice of $34,994). My deal comes out as $35,176 plus $2,100 txes etc. (which is low - the dealer took off their $650 handling fee) to come up with the payment I wanted.
Help me out here - I Three questions:
Is this a good deal? I figure all said and done it's about $500 under invoice.

Should I get the extended service plan? $1800 sounds like a lot figuring I drive 22k miles a year and will be out of the coverage in 50 months or so.

With the problems some have had (noisy dash, brakes, rear diff, etc.) should I walk away and not make the deal?

Thanks

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I love my LE despite the small annoyances. A lot depends on your dealer and their willingness to cooperate with you and your willingness not to ***** about every squeek. Good Luck.

FIRST -Get the keys from the salesman AND SEND HIM BACK INSIDE. Tell him you'll come get him when YOU finish your inspection.

SECOND- Inspect every single inch, function, knob, switch, bulb & feature etc. from the tip of the antenna on down. This is YOUR chance to note any issues and get them fixed with no hassle.

Use the SEARCH function here and you'll find good pre-delivery checklist- maybe in - "How To"

There are people who took delivery with 6 spoke on one side and 5 on the other, 4x4 decals on just one side, missing trim etc.

Resist the urge to jump in and GO! It's hard but- just do it!

Question

Thanks, I ve found some great tips on the check list and taking ownership threads. What about the extended warrantee? 1800? If I drive 22-25K miles a year is it worth it?

You can buy that warranty right up until your new car warranty expires ...

Don't get in a hurry ...

You can do better on price ....

Take note of any scratches too...
I took one hr to check mine out and notice quite a few scratches.
That's why I have to wait till tom to come and pick it up.

Plus...bargain with the financial person.Tell him/her the APR u want and what's ur monthly payment budget.Insist on getting it that way.Pretend that you ain't gon buy it till they change it.Normally they will do that for the 04 model and the good thing, it's the end of the month and they need to sell it.

Gd luck

Extended Service

They said if I didn't get the service plan when I first took ownership I'd have to pay extra to add it later. An expection fee of like $400 on to p of the $1800. I tried to get them to lower it to $1200, but they didn't budge.

Did you get the extended warantee and how much did you pay? I've heard it as low as $900 (which I would jump at btw)

THANKS

Extended warranty through new-nissans.com:

$977 for a 5yr/100k $50 deductable
$1200 for a 5yr/100k $0 deductable

You can buy it anytime up until 12mo/12k miles at those prices..

After that but before the end of 3yr/36 will cost you $75 more.

We bought the first one on the '04 after 24k on the truck.
Bought the second one on the '05 when she was new.

If I was gonna drive a vehicle anywhere close to 100K in 5 years ... I'd prolly do it just for the helluvit ....

But in 5 years ... I won't get to the 36K ....

Back and forth to work ... back and forth to airport ... anounts to less than 7K/year ....
