I'm getting the new brake parts!

Spoke with the Nissan arbitration guy today (filed a lemon law claim on my Armada and am on the "final repair attempt"). He has 300 sets of the unreleased brake parts (new rotors and calipers, etc.) and is sending a set down to the Nissan rep for installation on my Armada. I'll let you all know how they work and post some pics. Should be early next week.

Well, the Armada is in the shop (has been since last Tuesday) so pics of the old will be difficult. I do have to go by there this week so I'll try to snap some "before" photos to compare. According to the Nissan guy the parts are larger rotors and new calipers. I'm wondering if there's anything that they'll do with the master cylinder as I've read that there's some proportioning problems as well. I'll keep y'all posted. Should be next week if all goes as planned.

I sure hope this fixes it. I've got a list a mile long of other stuff to fix as well as the brakes. This is my 4th brake repair in 11 months/19k miles. I don't know what's more annoying, the brakes or all the rattles! Anyway, hopefully everything will finally get fixed and I can enjoy my SUV. The design is great- if we can just get the execution phase up to par all will be well!

I am wondering if the new rotors will be the same diameter, but a little bit thicker. I can't feature Nissan buying everybody new wheels.

The fix for Sonata brake judder was 5 mm thicker front rotors.

I hit some ice this morning, while stopping at a stop sign, with the front tires only and the ABS came on and I slid a bit. The issue is that the rear tires where on dry ground, but it seems the rear brakes were not doing much at all. So I agree that there is a proportioning issue as well.

Actually I've got 20's on my Armada, so bring on the larger rotors!

The stock rotors are 12.6" in diameter. Wonder if they just made them 13's? Obviously the new rotors will have to fit the smallest wheels (17's on the XE, correct?)

I'm interested about whether the brake pads will be the same as before this planned fix. Would like to continue using the ceramic pads I have. Otherwise, will probably wait until they're worn before getting the fix. Rotors have not been getting warped as before since I made the switch to those pads (had the rotor thickness measured recently).

Yeah, and the OR package gets you 17s also. They really put you between a rock and a hard place. With 17s you have alot of tires to choose from, but the big brake kits won't fit. With 18s the tire choice is limited, but it will accommodate a little bit bigger rotors.
