key fobs falling apart

When my first key fob started falling apart i thought, gee i must have dropped it and caused it to start coming apart around the edges......but now I have noticed my other key fob is doing the same thing......never had this happen before......will these be covered under warranty? anyone else with problems with theirs?

Your not alone there... I have noticed the same thing. Mine has broken near the lock button (coming apart at the top of fob). Called the dealership and he said that I was the 3rd person to report fob issues that week, and it was only Tuesday! Warrenty should cover it, it covers mine. They will replace the entire fob and program both of your fobs to match your receiver.

This is one of the minor annoyances that I'm surprised haven't been tackled, let alone addressed, by the engineers of modern vehicles: the key fobs wear out!

Nissan should redo the key fob design like the ones from Volkswagen. Yep, that's right--Volkswagen.

It's based on a kind of Swiss Army Knife design where the key folds in and out of the fob. The material VW uses for the alarm/door buttons on the fob look to be more durable than the soft plastic on the Titan's fob.

Yo, Nissan!

My first fob broke apart

It will be covered under warranty. Just remember to bring BOTH fobs in because they have to reprogram both of them. (I had to run back to my house to get the other one when I went in.) It only takes a few minutes to fix.

I am having the same problem, the fob is opening up at the top and is showing a crack on the side about 3/4 way down. It seems to be pivoting around the the crack area when I push the button to unlock. Well I guess it's off to the dealer.

One of mine broke too. I taped it back together and it still works. The dealer is ordering me a new one under warranty.

When I traded my 04 Titan in & the guy wanted the kesy I was a little hesitant - then I handed him the keys - one the fob was split in half -no battery anymore, and the aother one was all cracked and missing a piece - I tried to explain that this just happened - I didn;t drop them or anything.
