Sunroof wind deflector...yes or no?? I need your help!

Hello everyone: I purchased a Nissan sunroof wind deflector and was going to install it today. But, before I did or do, I laid it on top of the roof to see what it would look like. So, my first impressions are mixed feelings. It sits up high (4"), but after researching some threads it appears to serve a good purpose in limiting wind noise above 30mph. But, is it really worth it?? I have heard some horror stories from members who state that eventually the paint will start to peel off where the bracket contacts the paint (even with the plastic 3m tape under it). So, I really need alot of opinions about this as something this little can turn out to be a disaster both aethestically and functionally. I really appreciate any thoughts on this matter!

I say yes. Any vehicle I've had with a sunroof had one and it makes for a much quieter interior. Besides, it can be taken off in 5 minutes in you want. Go for it.

I put one on my Titan ....

I don't think that a properly installed deflector will "wear through" the 3M abrasion resistant tape ....

More likely, the tape wasn't centered under the brackets ...

And even if it were the case that you were to eventually have to do a little touch up painting ... this isn't a place that you would normally notice ...

The only downside that I see ... would be that if you are regularly in & out of low clearance parking decks ....

Our Titan's don't have a sunroof...But, I can say from our Pathfinder experience that it was very much an improvement on wind noise and was durable for years wtih no ill effects.

If I had a sunroof, I would put it on. I like the way they look.
Hey, thanks for the help over the phone the other night on the grill removal. It helped a bunch. New grill is on and I like it.
Chrome wheel exchange is next.

I would definately at it to any vehicle I have with a sunroof. Had one on a 99 Civic I had several years ago - what a difference that made.

IMO ugly, really ugly. Mine had one on it when I bought it. The first thing I ripped off my truck was the 4X4 stickers and the second was the wind deflector.

I had one on my Durango and never noticed a difference. I didn't put one on the Titan and really don't notice that much wind noise. It really is up to you, do you like the look of it? In my case, it simply makes it that much harder to park in a garage if I have one.
