I don't know a lot about the Triton V10, but a higher up.....heh heh heh....challenged me to a little run in his girlfriend's F250 v-10. I always tell this guy how I eat hemis and F150s for breakfast on the way to work....and it's true, when I DO come across one that wants to go. But if anyone could give me a little info on the V10, I don't want to go to a gun fight with a knife.

with a bunch of stuff on it.
I can't imagine how you keep the tires from spinning endlessly. The truck is so powerful but light in the rear that I'd think you'd stay in place for a bit.
Granted I only have 500 miles on mine so far but don't have the desire to stomp on it. I know what this truck will do.
Now my other toy is a different story. A 1970 Chevelle SS 454 with approx 600 ponies under the hood. If you just listen to it idle you know you don't stand a chance of passing me. Listening to it is like music to me. The stock motor sits on a stand in the corner waiting for it's turn again. The gas gauge is faster than the speedometer. LOL
Spring is almost here, just a few more weeks and I can take my car out again. With all the road salt, it sits until April before it's time to play.
One interesting thing I've noticed is, the Police are much more forgiving if you're driving an old muscle car than if you get stopped driving a new car.

Gutless. You'll smoke him. 310 horse, 325 lb-ft.
Think the 2005's have more power, but the trucks are overweight tanks.
The titan will smoke any ford v10 but they are still far from gutless. Prior v10s actually made 310hp and 425 ft lbs of torque. The new ones as someone already pointed out make 362hp and 457 ft lbs of torque.
They do what there supposed to do very well, haul and tow heavy loads with minimal effort just make sure your cruise control isent connected!!!

I drove a first year V-10 E-350. They made less power than Chevy's optional V8, and felt like it. That's what I based my comments on. I know they were supposed to be an alternative to a diesel since more cylinders=more torque, but the early ones weren't so great. It didn't like to rev and it didn't make that much torque.
I say run him. If you have confidence in your truck, lag him a little. Its always alot worse if it looks like you made a mistake and still waxed him. I used to do that with my 70 olds. Let that SS camaro get the jump on you and then let the 455 go to work. You need to know what your against though, cause its a good way to lose your *** if you don't.
I had a 01 f350 dually with the V-10, I could slide the rear around under acceleration.
It's not so much a slouch just the bulk makes it slow..
If they put that motor in a 150 reg cab, do a little top end work it would be alot of fun..
But the reality is yes you will take'em.... in a red headed step child kinda way!!
Have fun, or let him barley beat you, then bet some cash !

More cylinders does not = more torque. Look at semi engines or even fire engines. Some of them run v6's. More displacement = more torque.

OK, old muscle cars are fine for weekend drives, but shed a couple of wheels, four cylinders and some passenger and cargo space. Get ya a GSXR1300R or ZX12R. Bone stock are in the upper 9s. Then remap the fuel injection, lighter less restrictive exhaust and of course baby needs a bottle. Youll be pealing your eyeballs off the back of your skull. Now thats fun. Watched a friend use a stock GSXR1000R to stomp a CameroSS with a supercharged 510ci............damn he was pissed.(the camero owner that is)
