I'm wondering if I'm the only one who...two months after he bought his Titan, still hasn't programed the 'homelink' transmitter!! I still use the old one from the other car hehe.

I programmed mine the second day. Get this, it took me three days to open the hood to look at the motor and this morning, day eight was the first time I looked under the truck. The driveshaft is HUGE on this thing. I have still not inspected everything yet, interior/exterior. The truck runs and drives perfectly and since it all seems good I think that's why I haven't looked up close. If there was any real issues my kids would have said something I'm sure.
The most interesting thing I have noticed is there really isn't that new car smell. Could it be the scent of the leather seats covering up the smell?

Yes, Clint, there really isnt too much 'new car smell'. I have fabric seats, so theres not cover up. Today, I might have waxed the ole' girl, but something came up (think it was sleep). In any case, could anyone recommend a regimen for waxing the paint? I've heard that ..with the new clear coat finishes...you should wax sparingly, but definitely keep up on the washes.
Thanks,
Paul

That raises a question. Why is the drive shaft so large in diameter? Did they make it out of aluminum and need the cross section for torsional rigidity?

Paul,
Initially I thought that I needed to get a coat of wax on my truck so I could "protect" the paint job, however, I have since been told that waxing may not be the best way to go for your first protective coating. A friend of mine that seems to have a good knowledge of the subject says that all that I need is a good polish to keep my trucks paint in good condition. Wax supposedly has components in it that are designed to remove old, faded finishes, which means it has to "cut" into the paint to restore the shine.
After I thought about this for a while, it seemed to make sense, especially when I remember using wax to buff off faded finishes off some of my previous vehicles. My friend suggested I get one of the readily available car polishes and try that and see if it didn't perform just as well as wax. I did, and I've gotten just as good a result with the polish without the worry of damaging my paint.
Please understand that I'm not implying that all car waxes will damage the paint on your vehicle, it's just that with a new truck, the finish should be good enough that a good wash and polish should give you more than adequate protection. My 2 cents...

I programmed mine the day I brought it home! I have to have it...opens the garage MUCH further away than the stock remote.
My truck was bought in October and still has the new car smell. I don't smoke and rarely open the windows.
for some odd reason i cant get my homelink to work????
Don't feel like the lone soldier, I can't program mine because i have a Genie Intellicode which rolls the code everytime. The Homelink will not do it if i remember right

it sure will. The instructions give the specifics on how to program it. And, it's actually EASIER to program it with the rolling code units! (you have to use the learn button on the opener itself).
