hauling a board

Has anyone with a CC hauled a longboard (surfboard) yet? I have a 9.5ft longboard that I used to put on top of my ex-GFs Explorer. I need to figure out the best way to carry this thing soon. I do have the bed extender but was wondering if another accessory might be better suited.

Carrying a board...

I carry a 9' board all the time. I mounted my old Thule rack across my bed and put pads on it, and just strap the board down. Granted, it hangs over the end of the bed, but I never go to far. See attached pic of the rack...

This link will show you a 9'6" on the Nissan Rack.
My Titan

I also just use the bed extender, put the board in diagonal, use one strap to cinch it down, a foot or two hangs past the extender. Driven in lots of weather and miles without a problem.

I'm in NY. It's February. It's been 5 degrees out. No, no surfboards in my very near future....LMAO.
