How about because New-Nissans.com doesn't offer that warranty or any other warranty. At least not that I can tell. They don't mention warranties on their website anywhere I can find and do not reply to multiple requests for a quote.

No time limit...hmmm I tried to look for a website, but came up empty. It would take me 10 years or more to put on 100k. See if you can get some more info.

I was at my Nissan Dealer last week to get some minor stuff
done and while lounge waiting, a lady came in and was quite upset.
She'd brought her Nissan in for service and although it was past
Nissan's warranty, she had an Extended Policy that she bought
aftermarket. Nissan Service said they would do the work but
it wouldn't honor the policy. She would have to pay for the
work and then put in a claim for reimbursement to the Company
that issued the Policy. I don't have any experience in the
Aftermarket's but don't most of them do it that way, or are some
actually honored by a Dealer and you don't have to spend cash
up front?
I believe the lady thought she was getting

Nr1, I believe you can think of it just like going to the doctor or dentist. There are some providers that they don't file, and you have to put in the claim yourself.
One of the big dealers in Knoxville even owns the company whose warranty they sell.

Think of it this way......A genuine Nissan warranty is like Blue Cross.

NewNissan.com still offers the Nissan factory warrantee. I purchased one last week. 50 deductible 100k or 60 months $977.00 (Six hundred less than my local dealer wanted for the same policy). Go to the website, submit a request for a car quote.
In the comments section indicate the warrantee your looking for. They'll e:mail you - e:mail back that you really only want the warrantee - that you have the car purchased when & how many miles on it. they'll send you the policy via the mail. Smooth as silk.

I got the warrantee thru new-nissan.com last week.
Call the dealership (360) 373-6300 and ask for the finance manager.
See if they can help you out. The $977 for 5 yrs 100k 50 deductible
seemed to be no issue with the dealership - advantagenissan.com

I got an immediate reply through e:mail and spoke with them directly
on the phone.

Almost 20 years ago the aftermarket mechanical breakdown insurance industry was huge and was crooked as hell! I worked in that field for a couple of years back then and it was a mess.Try to stick to a factory extended warr. If you need one. A dealer or garage does not have to honor the contract(after market) even if they sold it to you, which means you have to pay for everything upfront and try to get reimbursed after the fact. You still have to get approval from the administrator of the contract before the work is done or it will be denied. The repairing facilities may refuse to talk to the administrator which means if you want it covered under the contract you will have to take it somewhere else. The claims adjuster you speak to on the phone is trained to look for ways to turn down the claim. When you are sold the contract (aftermarket) a portion goes into the pocket of the people selling the contract and a postion goes into a fund that is to pay for claims against that contract run. In the begining when there is lots of money its not so bad. When that account starts to get low watch out! They keep track of everthing , There are inspectors employed to go out and look at your vehicle and find out why it shouldnt be covered . The burden of proof is on you! they count on the fact you cant afford the the money and time of a law suit. It is usaully a very negative situation. The aftermarket industry almost disappeared when the factory stepped in and started thier own but they are starting to reappear again , I do know there has been legislation in the past to try to make these hacks more accountable but I do not know to what affect :I got out I couldnt stomach it . Thats my two cents!
