Ground wire on exhaust?

I was under my truck today and noticed what looked like a braided ground wire just past the left flange. Anybody know if thats what it is & why.

The wire is connected to the flange bolt, and then to the frame. Not the O2.

It is a ground wire. My understanding is that ground wires on an exhaust can help reduce static electricity, vibration, and noise.

It was a logical answer. I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes answering
questions when you can't see what other people are seing is difficult.
