Thank you TitanTalk!

Because I am now the proud owner of a '05 Silver Titan SE. My first time to this website I created a thread asking why the Titan was a good truck and why I should buy one. I never expected much of a response from such a thread. Four pages later I was impressed to say the least. I was getting all kinds of friendly, intelligent responses. I tip my hat to all the Titan owners out there, Prometheus in patricular for giving me all kinds of advice about the local dealers and how to work with them. I am very happy to be in such a community and I love the truck. It drives like a dream.

Now, I only have one dilemma with the truck. On the lot I inspected the truck and saw no damage or scratches. After I signed a waiver I drove off. When I got home and while I was admiring the truck I saw a small blemish in the paint where it started to peel a little. It was located just above the door. Can I bring the truck back and ask the dealer to fix this? or are they going to say I am SOL since I already signed the waiver?

Again, my sincere thanks for all the help everyone gave me in making this huge decision.

Hey DocKins, congrats on the new truck. It sounds like you have exactly the same truck as me except I bought a leftover '04. So far so good with mine. I even went through the pain of the 50 mph towing break-in. At least that is overwith!!!

Anyway, if your dealer is decent, I don't think you'll have any problem getting your paint blemish fixed. My dealer said if I found anything after the fact to just bring it back and they'd take care of it. Luckily I never had to test it out. They've failed on every other account so far. After I get my first service done, I'm looking for another dealer to do my service work.

I betcha they take care of it for you.

In California you have 24 hrs to bring it back even if you just don't like the color. I'm not sure where you're from or what your laws are.

New truck = warranty? Something wrong with it = they fix it? They should not even think of messing with you, but who knows. Does it look like they could say it's a chip or scratch you caused or happened in a parking lot or using the truck? Or does it look like a factory paint problem?

Congratulations on your purchase. Yes, they will fix the paint. The waiver wasn't and doesn't absolve them from being responsible.
The only thing I've ever had to sign off on is that I received everything at point of sale and there wasn't anything else promised.
Start your ownership off by being optomistic and enjoy yourself.

Nurse, dockins is local. he got his from a local dealership same as yours but different local. anyhow, he can go back and say that the blemish was not noticeable under the lighting conditions in which were provided, especially if he has the truck delivered at night. plus the guy he got it from should take care of him.

Emphasis on "should" take care of you. My sales guy said he'd get me the fog lights at their cost. When I went to pick them up, they hit me with just over $300 Cdn!!!! I recently purchased them from Mossy for $168 U$. When I factor in shipping and brokerage fees, I probably won't save much. I just didn't want to pay what my dealership claimed was "their cost". I'm a bitter bitter man

I haven't received the fog lights yet but they should be here any day. They are currently held up at customs in Richmond, B.C.
