April 2005 Consumer Reports Information On Full-Sized Pickup Trucks
I scanned and cobbled together by cut-and-paste the information for full-sized pickup trucks from the April 2005 Consumer Reports Annual Issue. While the information has been reported before, this was the first time I was able to see the information first hand in a graphics format. Due to space limitation, I did not include the Chevrolet Avalanche.
I thought perhaps there were others who have not viewed this information.

Interesting to see them complain about the Ford's brakes...

Why does every magazine think the engine/exhaust sound gets annoying?!? I cant get enough of it and I have the Banks on it. Bunch of V6 loving tree huggers....

hehe....for the same reason they said the dodge ram had a "jittery ride" and "cumbersome" handling.
To me, that translates directly to "it rides like a pickup" and "you need to be a heterosexual American male to drive it", respectively.
I wouldnt take it too seriously, most of the things they note on these reviews as being 'negatives', i personally see as positives. Its all personal preference.
It's funny how they rate the Tundra the highest and it really doesn't meet the first criterium - "a full size pickup". Pull a 9,000 lb trailer behind a Tundra and see how well the brakes work and how the engine pulls.

That article ought to be a nice retort to all those guys with F-150's who say we have a lot of trouble with ours. I also own a diesel F-250 and play around on the FTE board too. I'll check and see what they are saying over there about the article. BTW, there are some pretty nice guys over there, so if you go visiting, please be polite.

I think i would avoid ALL 4x4 USED with appreciable miles. F-150's are used hard and they have all them little parts up front that appear to be terribly expensive to replace. For some reason i always picture little Johnny 16 year old hauling *** through gramp's pasture after a good rain. I agree with CR.
thx intersting to see the avalanche test out so high
Not surprised. I had a AV for 3 yrs/35k miles. Other than needing stronger brakes, it was a VERY good truck. It had no problems, no squeeks/rattles, OK mileage, good comfort....
As said above, it's amazing for Nissan to have such a well built truck for their first year in the market. My thanks to all the American workers that built this truck.
i'm happy for the truck not to be bottom last. Top 3 is enough for me

most of the reviews in Consumer Reports are sedan sissys...they love Accords and Camrys (yea yea fine cars...boooooring and useless in hauling or off roading)
the only way to buy a better performing and reliable off-roading (that's als be fast on a highway) half-ton pickup than a 2004 Titan is a...
2005 Titan.
yea yea i know a lot of you like the new "prettywagon" PowerWagon, but a Titan will definately beat it to them 4wd trail for many more years of happy ownership...and can likely hang in there in the rough stuff purty good.
I'm willing to bet money that a stock 5300# 4wd rear e-locker will off-road Titan with a 1200# warn winch can out 4wd (go further diatance) than a stock 6500# Powerwagon in the Rubian trail, starting near Loon Lake, not far from South Lake Tahoe... a 4wd trail suited for Wrangler Rubians and upgraded Jeep Wrangers.
