ARE LSII Tonneau Cover owners - does it rattle?

hi all. still sitting here waiting on my titan to be delivered. <homer voice> stupid 6-8 week wait!!! </homer voice> anyway, i'm thinking about accessories and things for my truck. in my garage now i have a front and rear set of gray husky liners. i'm toying around with the idea of an ARE LSII hard tonneau cover.

i've never had a tonneau cover of any type on any of my 3 other trucks. i really want it for when we go on family trips and we have luggage in the bed - everything needs to stay dry. i really like the looks of the ARE LSII also. are there any issues with this cover? does it bounce or rattle or make noise of any kind? have the owners of this type of cover had any issues whatsoever?

I have an ARE LSII does not rattle or leak - I've had a few different covers on 3 different trucks - the ARE is by far the best. It is buffered between the bed rails and the cover by a thick rubber seal and a series of rubber bumpers. Well worth the investment.

Lsii

Got mine for Titan KC about two weeks ago also in smoke color. Completely satisfied. Make sure you understand that the cover clamps to the unitrack in two front and two back locations so you lose a bit of your unitrack flexibility for bed divider and cargo extender.

i'm not concerned with loss of functionality of the utili-track. i don't plan on using any other utili-track accessories while the cover is on. i would imagine that during most of the winter the ARE LSII would be stored in my garage - hunting season and all. i'll have a 4-wheeler in and out of the bed from october-january. during the summer i would have the cover on though for vacations and what-not.

Have the cover your talking about.

No rattles or other problems. Was great on a long summer trip from FL to VA to RI. Makes the bed the worlds largest trunk.

As far as leaking, my truck sat outside through 2 hurricanes this past summer, 3 if you count the one that just nicked us. The 2 that came through town, Jeanne and Frances, did not get water inside the bed. One of the hurricanes took almost 2 days to go through and had 100 mph+ winds alot of the time. The other one only lasted about 1 day but was stronger. No water in the bed. If I spray in the cracks directly inbetween the tailgate and the taillight area, I might get alittle drip or two. But the tonneau does not leak, at least for me.

And as far as if it's on there secure, I think if the canes didn't rip it off, it''ll be ok. The bed divider is still 95% functional. You only lose about 2 to 3 inches on each end where it clamps down to the utilitrac.

If it rattles or leaks it's not installed properly. I got the LS11 and it came in cracked. Sent back and instead of sending a new one they half *** repaired it by cutting 3/4 in off front corner and gluing it back togerter and then buffed through the paint to a yellow primer. Sent it back and I went to pick it up in the rain so I didn't see the top clearly or that they dented my hood when they opened it thinking it was the brake release.

Installed wrong also could see daylight through front and had to pull sideways to open. S&S tire and performance then refused to remove the top and send it back and I had to drive to Huntington, WV to get it removed and a refund at another dealer.

A completely lousy experience and now I have a Jason top. It's a little lower profile and a lot easier to see over backing up. I like the automotive style latches better and it has a hinge system that lifts the tonneau away from the cab before it opens, allowing a much better fit.

cool dog islandtitan, great stance!

greg w, sorry about your bad expierience. Sounds like S&S messed it up and didn't want to send it back and lose their "authorized dealer" status. Very lame on their part. S&S could have been the ones to crack it, and to attempt a lame repair. They may have never sent it back.
