floor shifter, center console sound when stopping

My 05 le seems to have this real light shifting sound that seems to be coming from underneath the center console storage bin. It is not really loud, but I hear it every time i come to a stop. It sounds like something is moving or shifting. Does anyone else hear this? I have a feeling it has something to do with the tranny. Thanks

Not sure what you mean by shifting sound, but a clicking sound comes from under my floor shifter every time I am almost at a complete stop. My dealer told me all Nissan trucks do this. My dealer would also tell me that submarines fly if they thought I would buy it and leave them alone.

Same here with my SE 05. I believe it's the lockout activating when the trans drops down into 1st. Maybe someone with a better background and better upbringing can chime in on this one.

The "Clicking" noise your hear is a safety switch that prevents you from shifting past nuetral above 5 mph. Take a drive and go about 10mph and gently try to put it in reverse... It wont go. Thus saving the tranny

Clicking Sound

This clicking sound you are hearing when you stop is normal operation. Don't worry, it drove me crazy when I discovered it on my 2004 "T." Nissan has not come up with a fix to soften the noise. I called them and went on the record with the issue. I encourage you to do the same. If enough of us complain, they will be inclined to come up with a fix.
