The bed's a bit longer than the Scrambler's just over 5' bed. Plus you have rear seats rather than the claustraphobic half cab of the Scrambler. I'd sell my Scrambler and buy it....

I like it too, when they come out with a 8 banger I might consider it.

I dunno about that, I've had two jeeps a CJ 5 and a CJ 7 both of them were damn near bulletproof.
Course that was a while back. Quality could have gone down the tubes since then.
I just sold my Jeep when I bought the Titan, '89 Wrangler. I also owned another Jeep a few years back. You're right about the quality because the parts got soft. The axles went to wimpy splines, got rid of the T-trannys and went to Puegots and Asians, vacuum hub lockers that always tore up, etc.

Mostly all of this happened when AMC sold out to Chrysler in '87, though to be fair AMC designed the new Wrangler and rustled up the parts, including that crapola Puegot tranny. The new Jeeps have gone somewhat back to some of the tougher stuff (Dana 44 axles, for example) but carry a price tag as tall as the Titan.

I will almost bet that if (when) that thing comes out it is as expensive as a Titan 4wd. Otherwise, I bet it would be a fun vehicle to hack around the woods with. My truck, used for work, usually looks like Squid's truck, so hosing out the interior would be pretty handy.

Looks like the '46 Willy's Jeep pickup I owned. The old Willy's was a little rounder on top of the cab, but there sure is a resemblence!

Squid - that wash it out with a hose feature was designed into it to help with resale. Just open the doors and hose out the remains of the previous driver! It's ready to go again. Good old Jeep reliability!

Well boys I'm happy to hear that most of you will not be a member of the Gladiator Forum here in the near future.(Have enough cry babies here)
I have the tools, ability, and the need for the Gladiator so I'm pretty damn excited.
I've owned two CJ jeeps and found them to be very reliable for an offroad vehicle. One was a 73 and the other was a 87. I still own that nasty old green 72 FJ-40 Toyota Landcruiser so I have no adversion to getting my hands dirty like some of ya. (Wrenching is fun)

I've found that vehicle reliability has more to do with preventive maintenance and knowledge of the vehicles capabilities than Make or Model.

It's even the right color.

Cool

I think its a good truck for offroaders, if they really want to sell it they need to think about a full size version. I personally have no desire for it.

Man I leave for a week and everyone is crying over the new Jeep!! I think it looks sweet. What can you say, ITS A JEEP!! When they bring an off road vehicle in everybody need to take a good look, And take notes. I think it needs a little more power but that im sure will come. If I lived somewhere else than Florida I might buy one. (What can you climb here.....A Pallmetto bush). I still cant figure out why people are buying that Hummer down here! What are you going to use it for???

BTW: Squid if I ever see your truck in a parking lot Im going to write "WASH ME" on it.

I hope Jeeps Builds it, that thing is kicka$$. Also I have owned three other Jeeps in the past without and problems. My titan has had more problems than the Jeep.

Yeah I hear ya on the bullet proof. My 81 CJ-5 and 84 CJ-7 was the shizzle my nizzle. They were like Lee dungarees "Can't Bust em!"

Hey Squid, I love Jeeps too, even though I sold my 84 CJ-7 about 3 years ago.
Look at the wheelbase on the Gladiator, it looks enormous! It has short overhangs, which is cool but I still think it's going to be as big a sled as the Titan on the trails!

I hope not, more pics.

This picture makes the wheelbase not look so wide. Looks like everything is tucked inside the wheelbase out of harms way. I think it's going to be a long wait, just like the Titan

Man, the more I look at it the more I like it. I even like that color.
I need a little more HP, and torque than that though.
If they ever put a 6 cylinder diesel in it, I would like to have one.
Like Flfinfan said, the spare tire on the side would have to come off.
