So I recently bought a radar detector which plugs in through the car charging port below the radio. I have it place at the very bottom middle part of my windshield and I want to hide the wire. Is there a way to put it behind the dash?

So after much help from the people here on TT and a lot of research done myself I finally got it to work, and on the first time also. So Im going to provide my solution as dumbed down as possible for people like me who have no idea what they're doing with it comes to car electronics.
So to start, if your radar detector did not come with one, you're gonna want to buy a hard wire power cord for your model. On one end of that cord has a plug that plugs into your device, the other side splits into two. On the side that splits into 2, one of the ends has a little two prong fork or a circle. That is your ground wire. To use that you need to basically unscrew a screw that is touching the chassis of your truck(metal on your truck), place the circle/fork near the head of the screw, and replace the screw. Do this before you plug in your live wire or power on your car to avoid electrocution. the other side is your live wire. This is indicated by either a red or a white stripe along the entire cord. To use this, I got a fuse tap from AutoZone (Figure 1). You also need a 2 amp fuse (Figure 2) the amp-age is indicated on the top of the fuse with a "2". So first, strip about an inch of the wire from the live end and it should look like figure 3. place this wire directly into the blue "hole" or "plug" of the fuse tap. After that either tape it with electrical tap or if you have a crimper, you can crimp it. Next remove a fuse from your fuse box that is only on when your truck is on. (In the 06 titan I removed the audio fuse which is the fourth fuse from the bottom on the left hand side) You can check the back panel of the fuse box to see which fuse is where. You need to remove that, and plug it into the side of the fuse tap that , when looking at from the side, is not the plug that the wire is coming out from. (I hope that made sense) Next plug in your 2 amp fuse into the other socket of the fuse tap. Next plug the fuse tap into the socket that you originally removed. Then just plug your device in, power on your vehicle and there you have it.
I hope this made sense. If not and you still have questions I would be happy to help just PM me and I can help you through it.
There are other easier methods but due to this being my first time this is the only method I could really understand. Other people just simply placed the wire under a fuse and just reinserted the fuse making a sort of sandwich. I haven't tried this but perhaps for my BDGT I will give it a go.
