At 2700 miles I started experiencing the 'judder'. I called my dealer, who was aware of the problem (because of this site, I had even discussed the potential issue with the sales staff prior to my purchase). I was also told that they are not allowed to replace with the new rotors until they take the intial corrective steps twice. So, they replaced the brakes and turned the rotors. If I have to go back a second and then third time, the new rotors will be installed.

Yep, same deal from my dealer, mentioned that policy will likely change when the new brake kits are available in larger numbers. Right now they're getting one kit per week, only used for the most severe cases. My first 'brake job' is fine, smooth as silk for now.
Good news is, we're on the list for the 'final fix' next time around.
Hose, you're lucky, I had to wait until 10,000 miles before mine got bad enough to take it in!

I could tell that the stopping power had begun to decrease, and then all of a sudden, the vibration started. In just a weeks time, it went from a noticable rumble to fairly serious vibration. I am just glad that I started out on this forum before I even bought the vehicle. I was well prepared to handle this situation...
Funny thing is, when I called the dealer, I had both barrels loaded, prepared for a major argument about the problem, and the service manager was great! He acknowledged the problem and took care of it in a day.
I still love this truck

I agree, I still love the truck. It helped knowing to expect the problem. The guy I talked to today didn't even try to cover up anything. Admitted it was a known problem and acts like he will do whatever it takes to make it right. This will only help Nissan in the long run.
I do not own a Titan yet but I am possibly going to purchase one in a few months. I cannot decide between the Toyota Tundra and the Titan. Would you (those who own a Titan now) buy one again if you had the chance or would you purchase another make?

After the year of research that I did, and having spent the time I did in each of the choices, I would have to say that I would buy exactly the same truck.

My dealer is going straight to replacement. I went in at just shy of 4K. They diagnosed it. I said what's the fix? They said they can resurface. I said can I wait for the new rotors? (it wasn't too bad at that point). They said "You're on the list" No three strikes. I wonder if this is an official Nissan policy...
Went to the dealer today for my first brake repair visit. I had about 8.5K miles on the truck when I had to quick stop. After that the brake judder began. These rotors just can't take the heat. They turned my rotors and replaced the pads today. When they called to tell me my truck was done, the Service Manager told me he put me on the list to get the new final replacement parts. Great news!!! Saving me time and Nissan money. If any of you have the brake problem, I would suggest pressuring your dealer to put you on the list for the new rotors.

Is this 100,000 warranty you speak of on the new brakes? It must be, because the warranty on the original brakes has already been extended to 36 months and unlimited mileage as stated in the document at the beginning of this thread. A 100,000 mile warranty on the new TSB rotors would be nice, though.
There is a NEW TSB that superceeds the one issued in March. Warranty is supposed to be now 100K on "Brakes". Standard disclaimers, Im sure. I just want to make sure that I don't have to start paying for Brake parts any sooner than I normally do. On all vehicles I have purchased in the last 30 years, I start doing out of pocket brake work at the 75K mark. Sounds like Nissan is, at last, "Dong the right thing".
whole new permanent rotor brake kit being installed on Friday the 20th, dropping her off tomorrow afternoon and taking my Nissan free rental home. from what Honeykeeper has told me, the new brakes feel entirely different, so i'm excited!!! i am a three strikes victim and my service advisor rush ordered the new permanent brake fix asap... whole host of other warranty stuff being done so i'm not sure if i'll be able to report back with my assessment of the new brake kit till monday. i will scan my receipt to show new brake part #'s... i can't wait, hope this is it!!!

Has anyone seen this new TSB? Does this mean 100,000 miles on the new rotors or the brake system as a whole? I am ready for my second judder fix now, but I am not rushing to get it done. I put almost 40,000 miles a year on my truck. I would rather delay the permanent fix as long as possible. That way I delay out of pocket expenses for brakes. If the brake warranty has been decreased to 100,000 miles, then I would push for the permanent fix now.
Called my dealer today because I'm getting the judder, 12,500 miles. He said he did not have the parts but to come in and have them resurfaced. Guess I'll do that in the mean time but I'm going to make sure they will replace when they get the parts.

I wouldn't even consider another brand. I love my Titan. Look at the previous post. Dealer didn't try and BS on Brake issue. Toyota isn't in same class. If you want to tow anything the Titan is it.

I still don't see this "new tsb" on the nissanhelp website along with all the other tsb's.
