Found the attached pictures on another forum. Show the difference between old and new rotors.

New rotors are not larger or thicker, just have more "meat" in areas that count.

I got the full brake kit on my 3rd brake visit. Seems like the same stuff to me. I'll take a photo of the brakes and the invoice.

My Service Manager called me today regarding brake issue (what a change, him calling me rather than ducking my calls like some do). There definitely is a change in the front rotors. The problem is supply. Until there is adequate supply for approximately 1-1/2 years of production already on the street, the only cure is to turn old rotors and try again. Warranty has been extended to 3 years/unlimited mileage (viewed by the mfr as 100k miles, go figure). Nissan has advised Service Managers that everyone with the Brake Judder problem will eventualy get new front rotors, front pads, rear pads, and hardware kits. It is again, a matter of supply.

I had my "final" fix done Saturday - along with a tire rotation and balance job at 20K

I already have new brake dust so I don't know that the pads are any better...

But I will see in about 3 months if the judder problem has been eliminated...

Had my third brake judder fix in just over 9K done today. Dealer resurfaced rotors and ordered the new brake kit for the fourth and, hopefully, last brake fix on my truck. Should arrive in 2-3 weeks.

My dealer told me Nissan will only send out the new brake kits for trucks that have exceeded the rotor runout. I think it just depends on your dealer....I know some that have ordered the new kits for trucks that have only had one judder fix done....go figure. There's something not right about a truck that's had more brake jobs than oil changes! Love this truck, but will be so much nicer with good brakes!

Mine went in today. New pads and turned rotors. They told me that they didn't expect parts until Summer. There was no list I could get on. I was told to just keep calling to check status and that if it the problem came back they would redo them again as they did today.

This seems to fall in line with what someone else said about turning the rotors until they can't be turned no more and then getting the permanent fix.
I guess this is a way of stalling for them at the dealer level.

I took it to the dealer I bought it from, there is another actually closer. I may check with them and see what story I get.

Thumbs up Its Official!

...just stopped by my nissan dealership today. ran into the svc mgr. who pulled me into his office. asked me what year my titan was....as he placed a call to the parts dept. said put "me" down for a set of the new brakes. parts guys' response was I was #4 on the list.

Sounds like Nissan is going ahead and swapping people into the new brakes. ive only had mine turned once. they have been fine since. but i guess im getting the new brakes...without having them turned 3 times!!

Mine will be only once too. I plan on getting ugly and if there is no list, we will start one with me at the top. When I asked if there was a list the response was " we get one week and we just put it on the next truck in here". So I guess if you have bad timing you are screwed.

Called my SA today to schedule my second brake judder repair next Tuesday. He confirms what many have stated - gotta have two documented repairs. Only THEN do you get on a list for the new parts. First in, first out it seems. But only after the second set of brakes also fails.

I had mine in last week for it's 4th set of brakes and rotors (only 24k miles on the truck). They ordered the new brake kit and I have to tell you that so far they are soooo smooth and best of all, little visible brake dust. I hope these hold up.

Well, I got a surprise call today from the service dep't. After telling me on Monday that they ordered the new brake kit for my truck, and that it would be 2 or 3 weeks to get it in, they say "your parts are in...when do you want to do it?"!! About fell out of my chair! So, she goes in Tues for new brake kit and to replace a couple of mudflaps they ordered.

my 05 bought in in 03/05 started at 3K with a slight vibration during braking from high speeds. It's not that bad yet, but I have a feeling it will soon. i will hold off untill it happens at all speeds then take it in. I have some friends with 04's. Both have had more than one visit to the local dealer with no hassle.

nope. not anymore. nissan is NOT doing the "come in and we'll turn your rotors twice or 3 times" deal. They will give you the new rotors WITHOUT even turning them once....
