nope. not anymore. nissan is NOT doing the "come in and we'll turn your rotors twice or 3 times" deal. They will give you the new rotors WITHOUT even turning them once....
It really depends on the individual dealer, not Nissan. Nissan has directed the dealers to only order the new kits after runout has been exceeded on the rotors. I'm guessin' that Nissan takes the dealer's word that this is the case....I doubt Nissan actually measures the rotors themselves to confirm the runout. I think the dealerships that truely care about their customers are willing to fib a bit to keep us happy. At least I know that is true in my case.

A while back some titan owners were posting that they had the final brake fix done, when in fact they did not.
There looks like there is a lot of misinformation going around. I dont know if it is really from the dealers or people just wanting to be the first person to post that they got the new fix on there trucks. The parts for the final fix according to several dealers that I have called (metro, san bernardino, irvine, huntington beach, cerritos)have stated that they will not get the parts until early-mid June. And according to Nissan; titan, armada, and infiniti owners will get letters in the mail telling them of the recall. Now I know I live on the west coast but I dont think that we are getting the parts later than anyone else. Someone is not telling the truth....

Mine is in now for its first brake job, 4,800 miles. They said they are putting the new kits on the trucks as they get them as in if you have good timming you will get new rotors. They were not sure about mine. I will find out tomorrow what kind of luck i have.

Having just come from the dealer with the new parts, I think you would have to be on heavy meds to not know the difference.... the new brakes are much stronger than the original ones.... also, the factory stickers on the new calipers and the fact that they are bright silver are hard to mistake..... but I suppose anything is possible....

New calipers? Do you mean a new set of the same calipers or are these redesigned? I don't think I have heard anything about new calipers previously.

I just had my second judder fix on Wednesday. My dealer told me the same thing; that I would be getting a letter in the mail notifying me that new rotors are available. He also confirmed that because I now have had the old fix done twice, that I am at the top of the dealership's list for the new rotors when they are avaialble (which he said would be in the next 1-2 months). My rotors must have been in pretty bad shape because I can already feel a slight judder again after a couple of quick braking stops on the highway.

If you put a thicker rotor on you are going to need a wider caliper to make it all work, unless you use a thinner brake pad. Somebody who had the "final" fix needs to post the parts list.
...my Titan has already been in twice for brake judder. Now it needs it a third time. It judders every time I stop. Mossy Nissan in Poway will not fix it again. They tell me to wait for the new parts. First it was 14 weeks, now 7 weeks. I asked them several times if it is safe to drive the vehicle, especially towing. Each time they avoided the question. They did tell me this is Nissan's problem, not theirs. (I bought it from them).
I called Nissan. I have talked to the first and second level of support. Again I asked if it is safe. Again, they avoided answering the question.
I was really surprised that they would not make a temporary fix with the judder this bad.
Does anyone know if it is safe to drive the vehicle with "brake judder"?

It would depend on the increase in thickness. My understanding is that the new rotor is not that much thicker, so it might be accommodated by displacement of the pistons (and brake fluid) in the original caliper (in the same manner that the pistons are displaced when you change from old worn pads to new pads).
Mine included new calipers.... I am guessing they are a different design from the originals just because otherwise, why would they have given me new ones? But I am just speculating....
As for whether or not it's safe to drive with the 'judder' - It's kind of a gray area.... As safe as brakes without the problem? No.... So unsafe that you shouldn't tow? Tough call..... To me it would depend how bad they shake.... It's not surprising that Nissan doesn't want to answer that question....

Actually I forgot I have the TSB print out for this "final" fix. There is a section that mentions a new torque member if the truck is certain age. By looking at the diagram in the TSB this piece might be the magic in getting a thicker rotor into the caliper. Since the caliper pistons are only on the inside of the caliper will not affect the piston displayment. Clear as mud, right? I really can't figure out why Nissan did not have any brake judder in their testing of the Titan prior to production. Did they never get the brakes hot?

Just because they are new parts, does not mean that you have the supposed redesigned "final fix" parts that will solve the problem. Again I dont think that Nissan has the solution to this problem yet. According to some of the earlier posts concerning the new parts, the Parts were supposed to have been available in early Feb, then it was pushed back, and back , and back, and now they are saying early-mid june. i think nissan is testing different designs to figure out which one will solve the problem, but there is no real solution yet. I really hope that they get of their @sses and do something soon. I have 11035 miles on my 04 and I am starting to get the judder.

I recall reading something about torque member replacement to the effect that the torque members were inhibiting retraction, resulting in overheating of the rotors, which induced warping. When I replaced my oem pads & rotors with stillen pads & rotors, the torque members (caliper slide pins) seemed smooth as silk, so I didn't mess with them. I did grease the pad slides with high temp synthetic brake grease. I have been checking pad & rotor temperatures with an IR thermometer, and everything is staying pretty cool after ordinary driving. Unfortunately, I forgot to check temps before I swapped everything out.
