Here's a copy of Tortuga's invoice from his dealer that did his brake fix. It shows all the new part #s. Notice all the numbers for the newer parts have replaced the 7S w/ ZC for the rotors/pads, incl the rear pads.

Brought my truck in yesterday for the standard judder. I have 13K miles and its been getting steadily worse, especially when towing. When I asked the service rep if they would do the temp or more permanent fix he kind of laughed and said "what permanent fix". They cut the rotors, replaced the pads and some of the other parts. Brakes seem as soft as ever but the judder is gone for now. I expect I'll be taking it back in a few thousand, but I'm in the program now so hopefully a final fix is in the works.

Print the TSB and take it to your dealer. They need to be led along....we know more about our trucks than they do.

After a month's worth of driving (1200 miles) on the new rotors - I am quite impressed.

Brake dust issue is also practically cured.

Good Job!!

(so far)

I have the new rotors and so far they are fine. Mine only have about 500 miles but no brake dush. The dealer says the 06 will be a totally new design than the current fix for the 04 and 05. Who knows i would never trust a dealer.

One more thing to mention, you may want to check your pads when you get home. They didn't replace my rear pads even though it was listed on the bill. I called when i got home and they refered me to the manager. After 4 calls to the dealer they finally admitted they didn't replace them but they will give me call to do it when they get more rear pads.

Just got off the phone with my service manager and he informed me that we should be getting a notice in the mail late this week-early next about the new brake parts. I had both front and rear rotors turned last time so I am hoping for all new rotors around.

My dealer is just planning to skip the temporary fix all together and do the permanent fix. He claims to have just received the new pads yesterday and is still waiting on rotors. My trouble started at 10,000 and got progressively worse. I am at 15,000 miles now.

I had mine "fixed" the first time at a little over 8,000 miles. The judder came back after several thousand miles and now, at nearly 15K, my damn teeth nearly fall out every time I hit the brakes.

I scheduled an appt for next Monday morning to have the brakes fixed again and to have the rear diff serviced. I bet they'll try some temporary BS again.

I just brought mine in with a little over 15K and the judder was gettting pretty bad. The dealer told me that their service directive from Nissan was to turn rotors and sand pads the first time then do the permanent fix the 2nd time. He said their was a shortage of the fix kits right now so as soon as I start to feel the judder again I'm to call and they'll order the kit for me.

Question crossing fingers

Mine's in the shop right now. The service manager swears he is going to do the permanant fix the first time. He said he had extra kits with his last shipment??

I pushed him and he threw in an oil change and tire rotation as long as I gave him glowing marks on the customer survey!!

I hope he's being straight with me!

Called my dealer today and they said they didn't have any kits availible and were waiting to receive some from Nissan and since they already turned my rotors the first time I would just have to wait until they get some more in. The vibrations are very strong now so hopefully everything will hold together until then

What exactly is this judder? I'm still waiting on mine (hope it doesn't come though). Is it a shaking when braking, or does it happen while driving because of the brakes?

The judder occurs when braking only. The rotors get warped (out of round) so you feel a pulsating judder when the pads are pressed against the rotor. You can see he steering wheel going back and forth as it gets worse.

You may want to find another dealer for service. They cannot refuse to perform the "old" tsb work even if the "new" tsb parts are unavailable. With very few exceptions, everyone on this forum is getting repeated old TSB work (turned rotors and replaced pads) as many times as needed until the new parts are available.
