The saga continues - I go to pick up my Titan and sure enough the dealer lied. All they did was turn the rotors and install new pads. The manager that promised me the permanent fix wasn’t there, so I jumped out the service tech. She flat out said that the fix wouldn’t work but I had to come in three times. Needless to say I was pissed! I argued a little more and realized I was going nowhere so I went to walk to my truck. I wasn’t 50 feet away when I say 3” long gash on my skid plate. I almost came unglued!! I called the manager over and asked what the hell happened. She looked at me and said “that must have been there when you brought it in.” I stayed cool and told her to look at the paper work. Luckily I made the other manager do a walk around with me. ALWAYS MAKE THEM DO THIS!!! She turned real pale when she figured out that it was done while in their care and you could still see paint flakes from what ever hit it. She got the store manager and he was really upset. After very little discussion my truck was on the way to the body shop to fix the skid plate, I was guaranteed the permanent fix today and he gave me a rental for the night. I’m still pissed but we will see what happens! I can’t believe people try to pull this crap!! It’s one thing to screw up but to hide it is total Chicken $^%&. I’ll let you know how it goes……………….

I think you might get an opportunity to evaluate them on the survey.

My dealer has a waiting list for the brake fix. They have a list on a clip board hanging on the wall and I am the last one on the first page (#40). The dealer was upfront and admitted it would be months until it would be my turn. The judder is embarrassing at this point. Anyone who drives in my truck looks at me funny when I brake because it's so noticable. First vehicle I have owned that I know most of the service guys at the dealership by name. I love the truck, but damn this is getting old.

I'm scheduled to get the 'permanent' fix next week - when I called the dealer they said they had an extra set of the parts in stock and would be happy to do it. This will be my third brake job in 12000 miles.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has had their truck replaced or repurchased under the lemon law. Seems here in California if the vehicle has had two repairs on a safety related item that could cause death or serious bodily injury it would qualify. I don't think the brakes issues would be a stretch at all.

I'm really happy with the truck, but between the brakes and window regulator issues plus all the small things like the stereo fadeout and broken interior pieces I am getting tired of taking the vehicle in for service all the time.

Any thoughts? I wouldn't complain too much if I ended up with a 2006 in the driveway...

You can say that again! I called my dealer and asked what kind of service they were providing for the Service Bulletin that had been posted and the repair folks got all bend out of shape, they had no clue, or they simply try to play stupid and naive. Had the judder and wanted to know if they would just resurface the rotors or switch them out.

Hey fella's! My dealer told me that these new brakes are made out of a harder metal so it should help with the DUST problem! He also stated that these new ones have a FULL 3 YEAR UNLIMITED MILAGE warrenty from the day installed! Pretty cool huh!

I believe they have a higher amt of copper in them, according to info at the other site.

Well I just got back from a long trip so I couldn't post before I left. They gave me the permanant fix, repainted my skid plate and the oil job. The breaks are great! I love running this truck in the mountains! The service tech was running around kissing my butt in hopes of getting a good survey. The manager flat out told me the survey was their bread and butter, so it might help to mention that the next time any of you go in.

At 18k mine are just starting to judder for the first time (I drive my 2004 mostly hwy miles).

So should I talk to the dealer first to get on the list for the new parts. I get my truck serviced in San Antonio, (Go Spurs) Texas.

Our 2004 Titan Crew Cab LE is going in tomorrow for brake judder and warped rotors. It has 3100 miles on it. This poor truck has already had its windshield replaced three times, a new steering wheel, stereo problems, and now brakes. I hope the dealership doesn't try to make me pay for the warped rotors. I had always thought that the warranty doesn't cover brakes, but I noticed that the repairs have been done for no charge on the boards.

My dealer called me yesterday in the morning to tell me that my new brakes were in. I brought it in at about 10:00 am and picked it up at 3:00 pm and I was grinning from ear to ear.

They turned the rotors for me a second time on June 7th and they told me that I was 5th or 6th on the list for the new brakes. I was shocked that I got a call this quickly because they told me that their most recent recipient of the new brakes was "on the list" for 7 weeks.

They replaced the front rotors and pads, resurfaced the rear rotors and replaced the rear pads as part of the "permanent" fix. I have noticed a big difference with respect to pedal feel. It's not a "squishy" as before. The brakes seem to grab much quicker.

I have to say that I'm happy that these brake woes are finally behind me because I really love my Titan. After 7900 miles that's really the only major thing I've had problems with. I do have the door rattle, but the parts are on order for that and it's really nothing more than an annoyance at this point. Besides, I can always just turn the radio up a little louder.

took my 05 truck in for the first "turn" at 3500 miles. when I made the appointment, I told the tech I wanted to be put on the list to have the permanent fix. At that time, she told me that she would put me on the list. then, I took it in and they turned the rotors. And then this tech told me that there is no longer an actual list, they just fix the brakes as they see fit. what that means is they will turn them until they can't turn them anymore and then and only then will they do the good fix. I told her I'll lemon law it before I bring it back 3 times to fix the same damn problem.

it's Mossy Nissan in Oceanside. they are a monopoly and own about 4 or 5 stores in SD. has anybody had the good fix through any of the Mossy stores in SD?
