I do, however, have quite a bit of respect for the guy who I quoted from over at Clubtitan. He is a frequent poster, and is always helpful with info regarding our trucks.

I think these newer pads he's talking about have a higher copper content and should help, but I can't see it curing the judder issue....only a rotor with more mass, or some other way of keeping the rotor cooler; i.e, drilled/slotted, will cure the problem long term.
I know you're just the messenger - glad you passed on the info! If you say your guy is reliable; that's good enough for me. Of course, his manager and the Mr. X at Nissan are another story perhaps? LOL!

True, indeed! Only time will tell, I guess.

I have to confess I'm hoping they're wrong - my copper KC order is now delayed until mid-July and it sure would help the wait if I knew there was no judder in my future!

Finally....new kit was installed Friday. After 4 judder fixes in 11,000 miles, I'm hoping I won't be seeing the dealer for a long time! Dealer said they've had no more brake judder issues with any of the Titan/Armadas that they've installed the new kit on so far....so hopefully Nissan got it right this time...we'll see, I guess.

Smoother operation and much better pedal feel.

Great news for you! My sales rep (who does much of his own truck mods) assured me the new ones have the different rotors and pads. We'll see, won't we??

Talked to my Service Manager and he advised me that EVERYONE will get a letter soon advising of replacement program. He indicated that EVERYONE with the old style front rotors will get new front rotors, front pads, and rear pads (with rear rotors only to be turned). Anybody else heard about this?

I was just in (last Firday) to have my rotors turned since my dealer had no stock of the new fix. They did the new pad and torsion(?) bar replacement on my truck.

I talked to him for a long time about the issuse of the front brakes. All he said was that he is suppose to get two brake kits a day but that does not allways happens. He said he was just at a Nissan service meeting on the east coast and all the dealerships are upset about this issuse. He said that Nissan is promising to clear up the backlog of parts by mid July. He said nothing about a letter.

I pick up my '05 Thursday. Unfortunately, the date of manufacture is March, so no new rotors, etc. The dealer told me they are getting 20 sets of new brake kits a week and I will get the new fix upon 1st sign of trouble.

We'll see.

regarding "Dougs"[s] comment about telling the manager you want Nissan to do a "buyback" is untrue. it's not that simple. it varies state by state on what a dealer is required to do. most states allow the dealer a certain amount (maybe 3) chances to fix the problem before any action can be taken. you can't just walk in and say "x" is wrong with my car, I want you to buy it back or give me a new one. does not work like that.

FYI, just had the brake kit installed on Tuesday and WOW...BIG difference. Pedal feels tight, more powerful and doesn't fade. Dealer said originally he didn't have the parts and would just do the rotor turn and pads bandaid for the second time. I guess he found the parts late in the day and put 'em on. Now if I could just fix the hoppy skippy bouncy boingy ride...

I don't think that's true, unless its your dealership that is doing it on its own, as I have heard of a few others doing this. I talked to my service advisor yesterday and was told that I am part of the next 5 on their list to get the perm fix and also was told that they have only been getting 1 kit about every 2 weeks but seems to have increased the last few times with 2-3 kits every two weeks....we'll see what happens, but was told it 'should' be fixed during July.

I see what you guys mean about the old brakes. Got my '05 today and the soft, mushy brakes are the ONLY thing I don't like (my 99 F-150 had awesome brakes). Now I'm not going to be sad if I do develop judder so I can get the new boys!!
