I had a letter sent in by Nissan to my address explaing that i could take my truck in and have the brake judder repaired at no cost to me. It even explained that i had unlimited milage but i must have it done within 36 months of my in service date. The brakes when i press them feels like the brakes are square shape and my steering wheel judders and i can feel the vibration in my brake pedal. I dont recall if the letter was telling me but maybe more suggesting.

Re: Brake Recall Info

If I Remeber Correctly The Letter That You Are Getting Is Stating That They Extended The Warrenty On The Brake Judder That The Titans And Armadas Have 03-05.

Re: Brake Recall Info

I'm getting the 'brake fix' done this Saturday morning. The judder has recently increased from only slightly annoying to very noticeable. I expected the run-around but the "Service Consultant" I spoke to knew exactly what I was talking about and said it was no problem to get it fixed this Saturday. He did say it would take about 4-5 hours, which seems kinda long (I've replaced the brake rotors and pads on many cars in WAY less time than that) but oh well.

I will update here with my experience next week...

Re: Brake Recall Info

Mine are going for the 2nd time at 11k for the second time on my 04KC. Just a slight waa waa in the pedal right now. I figure that I'll go another 1k before it gets too bad. Might as well get all the use out of the rotors/pads to prolong the next change down the line.

Sounds like the parts are finally in stock.

Re: Brake Recall Info

Hey Titantech659
Can you give any help on identifying the old rotors and pads compared to the new one.
i have an 04/05 build date with only 6000 miles and no brake problems , but the brake dust is out of this world and seems to be damageing my new foose wheels (although i thught brake dust was non corrosive).
if i wash and polish my rims and drive to get gas less then 1/4 mile my hands are black if i rub the rim.
anyway are the rotor thicker ? pads a different color?
part #stamped any info would help.
isee some post that some truck have new rotors but not the pads, is this true have you seen this at you dealership.
like i said idont have brake problems but i would buy the new pads if i new i had the right rotor and it would cut down on the brake dust.
if rotors are thicker please supply the measurements for me.
thanks in advance if you can help or comment

Re: Brake Recall Info

I called my dealer (Gray Daniels Nissan, Brandon) the day before yesterday about my brake judder and a few other things. He knew exactly what I was talking about. My truck is smooth as glass when braking now. The only irritation is that they didn't do the trailer harness fix and they didn't attempt to fix my suspension clicking problem like I asked.

Re: Brake Recall Info

If you are getting that much dust you have the old system. I bought my first Titan in Jan 2004 before the brake problem was a known issue. I kept wondering why I had so much brake dust. My front wheels were always black. It took about 15k miles before I got the judder. My 2006 Titan does not have that problem, not one speck of brake dust on the wheels. So take your truck in and they will take care of you.

Re: Brake Recall Info

My dealer knows about the problem. There is a service bulletin that all dealers know about. The dealer did mine with no questions asked. Maybe you need Nissan customer service to give them a call. But i don't think they like us customers knowing about certain things thru the internet. lol if you have enough paper and ink you could print out this thread.
Mossy Nissan here in the San Diego area is very good to work with except like others they can't ever seem to find the source of the dash and door rattles. Of course they are magnified with the use of a subwoofer heh!

Why didn't they fix the trailer harness? Mine did it automatically during an oil change and told me after the fact. That was great!

Sid Dillon Nissan, Lincoln, NE by the way. In fact this week during an oil change the sales manager took my TITAN and reset my TP system after overhearing me talking to the billing person. He had one other TITAN with the same problem. OUTSTANDING service.

I know it's not related to the thread, but I always want to put in a plug for a dealership that goes above and beyond.

Re: Brake Recall Info

The dealer didn't fix the trailer harness because my 2004 didn't have a tow package. I assume it has been fixed on my 2006 at the factory but I will check.

Re: Brake Recall Info

Just got back from the dealership. The service manager told me that the 06 Titan is a vast improvement on the 04's and 05's. He said Nissan corrected all the major problems the 04's and some of the 05's were having. Mainly the brake's and the rear diff issue. Just an FYI (He then threw in a disclaimer of how nothings ever perfect.)

Re: Brake Recall Info

I got the fix done at 6500 miles last weekend on my 05 LE.

The service dept wasn't great...it took them 7.5 hours to do it, but my sales guy at least loaned me a car so I could go over to the mall. Considering the closest dealership is over 1 hour from my house (this dealer) it's not feasible to drop it off and then come back later unless they give me a loaner.

My salesman was very helpful...he even went to give them an earful when they put my truck on hold repeatedly to change the oil for drop-in customers. He asked them why they even had me make an appointment if it was their lowest priority?!

One thing I was confused about is they swapped out my window switches, even though they worked fine. Is there a TSB on these?

Cool Re: Brake Recall Info

'Lo all. Newbie to forum. Anyway, I got the fix done to my '05 TITAN XE almost 1K miles ago. That 'jutter' stuff started at about 4k miles. I knew about the problem almost as soon as I purchased the truck. Lucky for me, my dealership was great. They corrected the problem w/o even a wimper. The truck seems to be doing fine. I will post if I notice any other problems.
