Had brakes fixed at 4300 miles. Now starting to shake again at 6600 miles. Call dealer this AM, here in San Diego and was told to bring it in for 2nd fix and then I can be added to waiting list for the new fix. Rotors where turned once already. Guest we'll see if there's enough to turn again so I can get on the list.

They told me I had to wait until the 3rd time.

Sigh.

I love philosophical 'tard quotes.

YES! WE MUST ALL COME TO APPRECIATE THE NEWER IMPROVED BRAKE PARTS BY LIVING THROUGH MULTIPLE FIXES OF THE OLD CRAPPY PARTS! ONLY THOUGH THIS PROCESS SHALL WE FIND NIRVANA WITH OUR TITAN'S BRAKING SYSTEM!

or thus says the dealer.

By the way, hats off to all you members. My Titan was an emergency purchase, when my Frontier died on me on a business trip in Virginia. I Googled "Nissan Titan" and found this site. Read for 3 days and learned a ton, thanks! Got it from Hall Nissan in VA Beach for Edmunds recommended $26,400 w/drop in bed liner, non-sliding bed extender, and floor mats.

2005 Galaxy KC SE 4x4. Did Mobil1 0w40 today, and the rear diff fluid (Mobil1 75w90...screwed that up!, going to get 75w140 tomorrow and do it again!)

Take care,

P

I use Harte Nissan in Hartford and have not been disappointed (2nd vehicle purchased through them).

My 04 CC LE had the first "judder fix" done at about 4400 miles. I just turned 6000 miles and the judder is back. I brought my truck to the dealer this morning for an oil change and told them about the brakes and they placed the order for the new rotors rather than doing the temporary fix and waiting for the judder to appear again.

I don't expect the new parts to arrive any time soon because the service manager asked me several times to please be patient as there is a huge demand for the new rotors. I told him that just being "on the list" was good enough for now.

Just installed upgrade

I dropped my truck off this morning and got the new upgraded brakes. They feel good. It looks like I got new rotors, calipers and pads. Time will tell, if they last.

Thoroughbred Nissan Service Department is great.

Brakes

Took mine in yesterday. Started feeling a slight judder not really that noticable. I just turned 24,500 miles so I figured I should at least have it checked out. The service manager said they are not to order anymore parts as of tuesday 5/10/05. He said Nissan will be stocking all the dealerships with all new parts. He said they should be getting them in in the next week or two. He told me he'd set mine aside and let me know when they came in.

6500 miles. judder was so bad my wife "threatened" not to drive my truck unless I got it fixed. Took her in yesterday, the truck, and got new brake pads and hardware. The dealer sais the new rotors won't be in until fall.

I had my service writer say today that there is now a "lifetime" warranty on the brakes for the Titan.

Anyone else hear this?

I took my truck in yesterday. They just did a resurface. They told me the new brakes parts won't be available for a few weeks.

First brake judder happened at 6000
Next time happened at 9000.

So, whatever they did as a temporary fix the first time, they cut the mileage in half, from 6000 to 3000 miles. I told them at this rate I'll be back in 1500 miles so they can try again.

If I wanted to, I could make a couple quick stops from 70 MPH and I'd have brake judder the next day. This is what happened last time. The judder started at about 8000 miles and steadily got worse to the point that it was bothersome when driving.

Thumbs up brakes work!

earlier tonight, i had to make a fast, HARD, 2 footed brake.

dumb-asz trucker. out of no where, pulled out in front of traffic. doing 5 mph. we were doing 70mph (3 lane highway). there was a newer toyota camry, bmw x5, and some other cars. everybody slammed on the brakes i could feel the ABS brakes pulse. never did it slide out, nor skid. i remember hearing cars behind me squeal, and the bmw and camry in front of me stopped on a dime. so did my titan.

my nissan svc dept. looked at my rotors during my last oil change. said the brakes needed service. changed the pads, turned the rotors.my brakes worked fine before and of coarse, now afterwards. they said once the "newer" rotors were more available, they would call me for replacement.

Can somebody confirm this? I got to bring mine in soon, I would rather not bring it in twice.

Ok, had follow-up on this troday, he mis-spoke. The warranty is unlimited mileage and the 3 years ...

So mine is in for the second time for Brake Judder. Guess I'll be waiting on parts now.
