Ok, forgive my stupidty - question: I have a 2006 Armada. Still under 36 months, BUT have 44k miles on it. Since it is a 2006 and not a 2004 or 2005, does that mean that this bulletin does not apply? The brake shudder is getting pretty bad. Any suggestions? Thanks!
vty,

I am not certain, but did you get the letter from Nissan saying you are getting the extended warranty on the brakes? I though th extension was only on 04's and early 05's. However, you probably are about due for a routine brake job..depending on your diving/towing habits...Isn't somewhere around 50K normal for the 1st routine brake job? You should take it in immediately when you feel any judder...
If your 06 is having abnormal brake problems, then my faith in Nissan's final "fix" is gone. I know everyone hates hearing lemon law, but if they can't get this straightened out within three model years, they are going to have problems!
I'm not that perturbed: 44k miles is pretty good for a set of brakes. I raised the question only because there is still plenty of life left on the pads, and the only real problem is the shimmy. If Nissan had a recall on it, great, but if not, I'll just do the brakes.
My '07 CC 4x4 Titan is in the shop today with 8500 miles for the second time. I've only had the truck since June. No towing. The first time, they turned all 4 rotors. This AM the service rep told me he plans on replacing the front rotors and pads and resurfacing the rear again. I told him I wasn't happy about the rear resurfacing and he said he would see what he can do with nissan. I understand if they won't pay he won't replace them.
I sure hope this fixes things. I will be paying close attention as the lemon law in MD is 3x you're out. I need to check the mileage limitations though- I think they're pretty low.
Are any others having problems with 07 model year? If so, have you found a successful fix?
I have an '07 and I don't have the judder or shimmy yet, but my brakes just feel like they don't stop the truck as well as they used to. I have a feeling as time goes on I will get the judder and shimmy. I bought the truck 5 months ago with 4900 miles on it, now I have a little over 15k on it.
Are there still brake problems with 2007's?

I thought the 2007s had the brake issues resolved. My shop just called. There was no runout on the rear rotors. They replaced both front rotors and replaced the front pads. Hopefully that solves my problem. My truck sat from 9/06 until I bought it in 6/07. I don't know if all that sitting caused problems. I wouldn't think so unless the calipers are hanging up or something.
Good luck with your '07. If you get the brake judder you'll know it.
I finally received the call from 1-800-Nissan about getting a "goodwill" claim and the answer was no! They didn't give me a reason (they left a message) but said the dealer offered me the "final fix" that I didn't get the last time and that it will solve all the brake issues...but they will not pay for it! So I guess I will be getting some after market rotors and pads for what may be the last Nissan product I will ever own. Any suggestions?
I had the brake problem last year after towing my brothers bass boat (17ft aluminum ) to and from Deep Creek lake.. tow mode on, easy driving, not alot of hard stopping.
Dealer in Frederick did the recall (changed rotors and pads frt, and turned rears) wore them in for about a month or two normal driving, then drove the hell out of them one night got them glowing and stinking hot then let them cool and did it again just for kicks ( more for a cycling effect) I have not had the problem again yet, and last weekend dragged an old 21ft Cajun boat loaded with gear, gas, 225 merc and 3 (big) guys crap back to Deep Creek and no problems... I hope it stays away, I hate to see that the 07's are still a problem... hopefully they get it straight before they try to put a diesel in them... Good luck to all
{ in case you care... 05 Kc, tow, 4wd, 25k miles now, problem at about 13k}
Posted this under the brake poll and thought it was a good idie to post here also..........Hi.. first post ... May 04 titan.. had the famous brake shake at 10,500 miles. Dealer could not get the parts for two months and offered up to cut the front and rears as a short term remedy. Well, 30,500 miles in and it's back. At the dealer today and he called to say Nissan will not cover it as the extended warranty ran out 4 months back. I'm not sure if the dealer was blowing smoke but he seemed mad and attempted to call around to get it covered. Well, now I'm on the phone without an answer yet. It is beside me that the job was not done correct in the first place and they will not honer poor workmanship. I will re-post if I get anywhere with the folks at Nissan. I do have one question.... Is it the roter or the caliber and roter that are the problem?.... Are the aftermarkets working OK? Oh, buy they way, I say keep this poll rolling Thanks for listening to my squealing

Your story sounds like mine and many others here. My dealer acted the same way and said he did everything he could to get it covered since I didn't get the final fix (just turned rotors like you). I called Nissan and went through there "good will" process. It sounded promising at first, but after about 2-3 weeks of not hearing from them, they finally left a message saying they would not cover anything.
I truly hope you have better luck.
The problem is the rotors. I just did my own a few weeks ago with DBA rotors and EBC pads. So far it feels ok, but i have not bedded them in yet. But they do feel better. For $225, I will bet they will last longer than the $651 brake job the dealer wanted to do...It's a shame if you ask me...good truck...bad brakes and customer support/care from Nissan!
Thanks SarkaZm I will follow your lead if I get nowhere with Nissan. On the bright side I can teach my son how to do a brake job....In 1986 I had a Toyota Supra that I shattered the clutch plate in 6 pieces, one piece came thru the floor board and Toyota would not cover it. My Pop, was a service manager for Ford and siad... Son that is due to you popping the clutch out of first gear...I said no it happened going into 2nd gear. He raised an eyebrow and siad... If you want to dance you have to pay the fidler.....Well I'm older, a little wiser and easy on my truck...I don't want to pay the fiddler... I'm not one that advocates suing anyone, but if you do a search on Goggle under "Titan Brakes" you will find some class action suits for this problem.
I have a 07 CC and I tow my Jeep at least once a month. About 7000lbs plus. I have over 10,000 miles on it so far with no problems. BUT, I can tell by looking at the rotors they have been too hot already. I plan on changing my rotors and pads to slotted rotors with good aftermarket ceramic pads. You will notice a great improvement with this combo. I had to do the same thing on my last car, Acura TSX 6 speed, because the brakes really sucked. I overheated and warped the rotors within a couple weeks, they replaced them, and I warped again. They would not warranty them again and said it must be driver error...right! i checked some forums, and everyone that drove the TSX/RSX had changed them out. Honda has low warranty...because they blame it all on the driver. Whatever, after I put Proslots on it with Hawk pads, I never had a problem again.
Sorry about the long winded post. Anyway, that's why I plan to do the same with my Titan. It's an easy thing to do on your own. Are there any people that have heard which brand rotors work well in the Titan? Thanks.
I own a 2004 Titan purchaced in Dec. 2004. I had the "Judder" at 12,000 miles(I think) and the dealer resurfaced the rotors. Well I have it again. I took it in yesterday and the dealer told me that Nissan is not fixing the problem with new parts any longer. Should the resurface at 12,000 miles start the 3/36 fresh or am I screwed? I'm not sure what to do.

12/07 marked the end of your extended coverage. So I guess you are screwed! At least that is what Nissan did to me. But they would gladly put the new parts on for $576! But I have never heard of them no longer using the new parts. I went with aftermarket slotted rotors and pads and did it myself for around $300. Good luck. You could file a petition with 1-800-nissan to see if they will do it, but that was a big waste of my time too...
Got lucky yesterday brought my '04 CC in cause had the brake shimmy again, they resurfaced f/r rotors and because my truck was a demo it wasn't sold until June 2005 so my truck is still covered until June of 2008!!! Brakes are much better.....for now!
