Arrow HELP, Cannot install PRG Leveling kit

I am trying to install my PRG levling kit and in step 2 it tells you to:

"Step 2. Locate the nut that retains the upper ball-joint to the spindle. Remove and discard thecotter pin. New cotter pins are provided with your kit. Do NOT reuse the old cotter pins! Next, remove the nut that retains the upper ball-joint to the spindle. After the nut has been removed, lightly tap the side of the spindle with a hammer until the upper ball-joint pops
free from the spindle.
Do not use a ball-joint splitter (aka pickle fork) as you can damage the rubber boot that retains grease for the ball-joint. (Figure 2.)
Figure 1. Figure 2.

I cannot get the spindle to seperate from the upper ball joint!! ANY ideas???

You just have to keep hitting it. It will eventually pop out. There isn't really any special trick to it.

Greg installed mine himself, he stated to me that he had to re-write the directions because people are not hitting the spindle hard enough. You need to hit it hard enough to pop it out. Dont be scared to wack it. When he did mine he hit it hard and on the third hit it popped out. Just do not use a sledge hammer. If you still cant just call Greg, I'm sure he will be happy to answer your questions.

I have been beating on it for an hour and am getting pissed. I am trying some WD40 to try to losen it. I do not want to break the spindle.

What you just said is correct. Greg has even said that he is aware that it must be struck pretty hard. He probably just didn't want to include "beat the hell out of it" in the instructions.

Listen to Moto-Max and VShortt... They are wise in the ways of the PRG installation...

When we installed mine, we used a smal sledge, like a 3 pounder of so, and then gave 3 pounds to the part that curves away from the ball joint itself so that we were not actually pounding the joint directly.
