In response to the last few posts here.....I think you're pushing your luck. Look, this thread was previously closed and has now mysteriously re-opened. Don't push your luck and keep hammering the guy who originally closed it. Move on with the conversation. I don't know if rrumaner re-opened the thread or not but let's face it: when we have to make judgement calls, everyone will never agree. That's just the way it is. Maybe rrumaner made a mistake....maybe not. Let's not beat a dead horse. Let's get on with our lives......

Man, IMO this is simple talk about cars. It has been going on since the invention of cars. It is good clean fun by a bunch of guys. If it were talk of pornography, cursing, leud type behavior, racism, etc.. I'd see closing a thread. One of the reasons I bought the Titan was for it's 0-60 time of 7.5 sec. It is fast. Anyway, just my humble opinion

Thanks, It is a CST lift in the front with custom Deavers in rear. The wheels are Centerline Stingray III's. The front end has gone through a few redesigns hoping to not desroy coilovers and shocks. I may have found a good setup for now ... but it will take a little bit more testing (hard off road use, mud, trails, rocks, etc.)

I think you are WAY wrong in this case. Your opinion means no more than any one elses ... the difference is you can take action. It has nothing to do with who is more important. As far as referring racing to manhood, racing is simply a competiton ... just like football, just like baseball ... who is better. And I'd hate for you to look at a woman racing (go to a track, you will see more piloting than ever before) and tell them they are trying to compensate for "short comings of their manhood". You would get beat down (and deservedly so).

Personally, I think your comments to this point in this thread, are trying to compensate for the short comings you are referring to ... to are sticking your chest out, flairing out the tail feathers and saying "I am moderator, hear me roar".

Problem is, you can have your post vacated. If membership suffers, revenues suffer because you act based on too much personal beliefs, you are gone. I have no idea what your relationship with our ultimate leader.

Again, your comments in this post to this point are unfounded and wrong. As a matter of fact, moderators are supposed to be NEUTRAL and make level headed decisions based in the best interest of the community ... NOT THEMSELVES.

Ban me or whatever you feel is just ... but if you start deleting threads about street racing, maybe you should ask for justification each time someone talks about an off road excusion. make them provide a reciept for the off road park or a copy of a deed to the land they were on ... after all, you wouldn't want to condone tresspassing would you ?

It is not what you get tired of ... it is what the OWNER gets tired of that matters ... enough complaints about a mod, and the mod would be gone.

I have always felt you were fair before ... you need to have a beer a realize it is not YOUR site ... it is OUR site (actually owned by ekool) to make what WE want ... not what YOU want (unless YOU are ekool).

I tried to say the same thing this morning, but the thread had been closed. I was very surprised to see it back open a few hours later.

P.S. I think the Titan has wieght and COOL advantage over the 2500!!

I would most respectfully request our honorable moderator to grant discretion to allow full discussion of performance related information.

This is the type of info which will keep this forum alive and vital. Without a full and frank discussion of performance related issues, there will be a big hole in the enjoyment of both this forum and the enjoyment of our wonderful Nissan trucks.

Just one guy's humble opinion. I have enjoyed this forum beyond measure, and I don't even own a Titan, but rather its sibling Armada. There is nowhere else we can go to obtain the kind and quality of information we find here, especially the performance data, both anectodal (some if it from street encounters) and objective (such as strip numbers, dyno print-outs, etc. I don't endorse street racing either, but commend this forum for its openness and objectiveness. I hope it does not change.

It hasn't and won't change for the time being.

The issues brought forth on this thread are being dealt with. Please see this thread for additional discussion and link to a poll:

I guess I will just be lurking now

back to the original question...i think the only mass produced trucks that can beat the titan (0-60, 1/4mi) are the f150 lightning, ram srt-10, old gmc cyclones. (none are 4x4)

anyone else know of any?

Altohugh the avalanche has more than adaquate power and has no trouble going, a titan will run away from it.
Ive been trying to find the source but i know i read a review with the 8.1 avalanche and it had a 0 to 60 time of abou 9 sec.
The fastest ive heard a titan doing is 6.9 for car and driver and that was with a crew cab 4x4.
The average seems to be 7.5

Kind of makes me wonder about how the 8.1 Av is geared. The engine should be able to handle the Titan, but the gearing may not allow it to tear up the dragstrip.

The 8.1 should have tons of low end and good mid range but probably dosent have the top end of titan. From what i understand the 8.1 is not based on the LS series gm v8s but its a decendent of the old 7.4 liter or 454 big block v8.
The LS series 4.8 and 5.3 v8s seem to have good top end but they are based on the ls1 corvette/camaro motor.

Okay, I'm not a motorhead or anything, so help me to understand...How can the 4X4 CC have a faster 0-60 time than say, the KC 4X4, or the KC 4X2. Or is this just the model "they" tested? I could see maybe the four-wheel drive helping with initial traction, but wouldn't the added weight be a disadvantage.

Again, I'm not arguing what you found, I'm just trying to understand better.

Thanks,
