Wax - How Soon?

Hey All,

My Titan is still all nice and shiny and new and I wanna keep her this way. I know there is going to be some different opinions on this but what kinda wax do you all recomend? I wont be able to wax it for a few more weeks (No Access to the Driveway this weekend and next weekend I'm going back to the desert). But the weekend after that it is going to happen I swear (if I can borrow the driveway for a while I have to park on the street)...

I live a few miles from the beach so I want to keep her protected!

hmmm why did that show up the first time?

Let me ask another question then.

How soon is wax needed after purchasing from the dealership?

I always like to wax a new vehicle as soon as possible, so less road grime settles on the paint.
Some will say you have to let the paint cure on a new vehicle before waxing, but I've read several articles over the years that all agree ... the paint on a new vehicle is baked on at the factory, so it's well cured by the time you get it. And quite often you're "new" vehicle has been sitting a month or more on the dealer's lot.

A great wax is the new Meguiar's NXT. It's a synthetic blend wax. I was using Meguiars Cllear Coat Gold Class and thought it was the best wax I'd ever used, until I tried their new NXT wax. Really easy to put on and take off, and a nice shine.

No doubt this thread will bring out the Zaino fans too... heard good things about it, but never tried it.

Wax away!

For those using the NXT wax, do you use the liquid or paste?

Is one any better than the other?

I use the liquid,

Easy wax on,
Easy wax off.
I love it on my black truck.

I thought I'd be the oddball and try something different just to see how well it worked and purchased some Eagle One Nano Liquid Wax. Well, It Sucks and the damn squirt bottle broke and got crap all in my toolbox. I'll be picking up some of the NXT to use next weekend. I only did the hood just to try it out and didn't feel it was worth the effort to do the rest.

Hey all of you that use the Zaino line. How long does it take to completely finish your Titans? Completing all the steps as required must take a week. I like NXT, but lately have leaned toward Meguires #26. It seems to give a deeper look to my Black Titan. Squid, you should really try it out. I also think that it gives a better coat that lasts longer.

Is #26 better than Meguires gold class? that's what I'd been using before NXT.

Learned a lot from this site: Autopia. I'm gonna try the Klause All-in-one after the next wash and see how that does.

Turtle Wax...

I use Turlte Wax. It looks good, and the sweat and blood that drips from your exhausted body onto the paint job while removing really slides right off, the true test of a great wax job. It also gives me a guilt-free feeling after chugging a few brews after scraping that sh*t off!......On second thought, maybe after this can is gone, I'll go to an easier product to remove. Man, that stuff is tough to take off!
But it was a gift when I got the beast last summer.
