thoughts on teflon wax

Had truck washed this morning was going to get waxed but the prices seemed high. Was told by the attendant that they had carnuba and teflon waxing. Carnuba would be 49 bucks and teflon would be 89. These prices include wash, the wax, tires and rims cleaned and shined and interior detailed.

Anyway my question is the matter of teflon wax is this a good idea or should I go with carnuba. Was told the teflon would shine better and that it would last for 8 months.

Well, I don't know this for sure but I'm betting that the so called "teflon" wax is just a carnuba wax with teflon thrown in the mix. On second thought, it's probably a synthetic with the teflon mixed into it. That would account for it lasting longer. I'm not sure about the benefits of teflon in this situation. I will say that I wouldn't pay that much more for "teflon" wax. Here's a link to some Dupont car wax with teflon for $8.99. http://www.autobarn.net/tecarwax16oz.html Doesn't seem like to me that it's any more expensive than any other wax.

I would be a bit skeptical about anyone who says their wax will hold up for 8 mos.
