CAI owners: Intake manifold cover hole fix

Today, I was cleaning the Titan's engine compartment when that ugly hole left by the OEM air intake hose (replaced with Volant) got me thinking. So, I tested with a few materials and ended up using fiberglass matting. It is not in it's final stages as the thumbnails show but it will be completed this weekend and I'll post updated photos.

I am thinking of doing something similar. I have made some templates and have some glass mat and resin on hand, just haven't got around to it yet. Be sure to post pictures when you have your's finished.

Looks good. What color are you gonna paint it?

I guess you have to eliminate the surface texture from the cover to blend it in. You know...I wonder if anyone has tried making a whole new cover from resin yet? It wouldn't be that hard, but it would sure take a whole lot of plastic resin though.

I applied black paint specifically for plastic then applied carbon fiber HD vinyl adhesive just like the Volant cover. I updated the first post with photos.

The big gapping hole is gone!!!
