What are Traction Bars for???

Hi there, Ive always liked the look of traction bars on trucks. I have a couple of questions regarding them:

1) Can they be mounted on a oem 4x4 Off Road CC Titan?
2) What off road and on road performance it enhances?

Can some one explain this better "The system reduces axle wrap plus side-to-side movement and adds greater suspension damping to the rear axle. This price includes mounting hardware kit which is necessary to install traction bars. "

Here you can buy @

THX in advance

A taction bar's main function is to prevent the axle from rotating about its longitudinal axis (parallel with the axle) under acceleration. That rotational motion is what is referrred to as axle wrap. When it happens it distorts the shape of the leaf springs, bending them into sort of an "S" shape. The consequence is a loss of traction, poor geometry in the drive line, a loss of leaf spring efficiency, and a drop in acceleration. There may be other benefits but those are what come to mind.

The biggest negatives of traction bars are loss of rear wheel articulation and loss of ground clearance.

If you drive a street truck and do a lot of street racing or drag racing at the strip traction bars can be helpful. If you do a lot of off-roading (more than just driving the fire roads) traction bars are probably not a good idea.

Hopefully this helps you out a bit. Good luck!
