south texas gas mileage increase, new gas reciepe?

Any one around the Houston area notice an increase in mileage over the last few weeks? I'm at 9000 miles and have gotten a solid 11.5mpg for the almost the entire time I've owned the armada. But the last two tanks I've gotten 12.8mpg . A while back I'd made a comment to the service rep about the crappy mileage and he said a lot of people were complaining about a drop in mileage and that they thought it was the "winter blend" gas that was being sold....winter blend in Houston??? I guess we did get snow this year. Anyway just wondering if anyone else has had a sudden increase, if so I'm thinking it must be a new blend out for the summer.

I can go a whole 26 miles further now on a tank

In Round Rock (north of Austin) I haven't noticed any type of change. If anyone thinks they get a winter blend in Texas, then I think they are wrong. I have never heard of it being any different than spring/summer but who knows. It's a V8 what do you expect LOL. I usually get around 12.5 now compared to the 11.5 that I was getting late summer last year right after I purchased. If I drive around town more than normal, than it is a bit higher, but with the back and forth short distance driving I do, I expect it to be low.

Haven't really noticed anything. In fact I'm expecting it to drop with the hot & humid temps coming up this summer.

One thought though... It has been relatively cool and very low humidity for Houston, so maybe the cool/dry air hsa helped.

Dude... you consider Houston south Texas?

To us down here on the border you might as well be living in Minnesota.

Gas sold in Harris County and the surrounding counties is "smog" gas. I always get better mileage when I fill up outside this area. Maybe you got some non smog gas.

Dallas Gas has been kind to me so far. Still getting bet. 12.5 to 14 MPG. But summertime means lots of AC usage so goodbye 14 MPG!

Okay south central Texas.

I've been getting my gas at the same corner station for a long time now. Maybe they just got some good stuff in or my Armada "passed" something. I was just suprised after the previous 36 tanks of gas that I would get a sudden bump in MPG and not a slow increase.
