K-9 cable

A couple of you guys have asked me to post a pic of the restraint I use for my dog while in the truck and the ground wire fix. Sorry it took so long, I can be a slacker now and then.
It is 2 bike lock cables, 4 clips, and it attaches to the child restraint seat anchor points. I then flip up the back and bottom portion of the seats and the cable goes over the top of the flipped up seats and slightly between the 60 - 40 split. Forms a "Y" shape.
The end of the cable (bottom of the "Y") attaches to the dogs collar or body harness. If you have a little dog and want him on the backseat, you will have to play with cable length to be sure if he goes off the seat your not hanging him. I also suggest a body harness in this instance.

My dog stays on the floor boards. He could not do this in the old Frontier, he had to be on the seat. And half he upper body was out the window. That was a concern when you slammed the brakes on and he went off the seats. The cable better have enough slack in it then. But it did keep him from going out the window after other dogs or birds, squirrles, etc...

Now with the Titan he can stick his head out either window and move around freely without getting tangled up. He stands, sits or lays down on the floor boards. For long trips I put down dog beds. The cable will keep him from climbing out the window or into the front seat also.

There are other devices for sale out there that restrain the dog much more securely, but this works very well for me. Used it on the previous two trucks I owned, 99 and 02 Frontiers and in our current 02 Xterra. Use it around town and on long summer trips. Easy to switch between vehilces. Easy to connect/disconnect. Easy to store behind the seat. Never gets in the way. Dog jumps in the back, I clip him in, and away we go.

Also someone asked me to show a pic of the ground wire fix. There are several out there on the site but here is that also. It's the red wire/cable.
Looking into engine bay, passenger side.

Looking through front passenger wheel well.

Stopped the ticking/rattling that I had under acceleration. Dealer tried twice to fix, no dice. Swapped out the exhaust tube assy and the rear cat, twice. It worked the 1st time for about 2 months. The second time not at all. They thought, as did I, that it was exhaust related. Sounded like it was on the passenger side of the motor, close to the firewall. Many have done this fix to stop the tick and it has worked for most. Worked good for me.
