Increasing the masses.....

I overheard one of my co-workers talking about test driving the F-150. He liked the power, the ride and the fit and finish of it. I told him on his next day off to try out the Titan. He just called me from the dealership and was floored. He thought the Ford had power til he drove the Titan. The interior room blew away the Ford, and on top of that the salesman is giving him a better price on the Titan than the Ford guy did on the F-150. As much as I loved being the only guy who drove a Titan at our workplace, I am glad to see more of them on the road.
Makes you wonder how many Ford, Chevy, or Dodge drivers would love the Titan if they would just give it a try. Sadly they are too blind by their loyalty to even consider anything but what they have had all along.

I had a reverse situation when I bought mine. My co-worker buddy just bought the F150 and kept telling me to check it out, as my wife and I were contemplating getting a TT to tow. I drove the Ford, liked it, thought the styling (especially the FX4) was cool, and was about to take the plunge, but my wife kept telling me that the Titan was getting positive ink in the towing mags, etc. We decided to test drive it and I was floored. I didn't think a truck could haul a$$ like that! And the room, man the kids loved the back seat, we liked the "different" styling, everything.
Went to work the next day and told my buddy in an apologetic way that I'm sorry man, but we're getting the Titan. He didn't even drive the Titan, just a Ford by default kind of guy. The first thing he noticed when I took him for a spin was the sweet exhaust rumble and the acceleration.
I'm beginning to see more and more on the road, it makes me feel like a proud pioneer.

I used to be a Ford man until I sold them, the quality isn't there. There is runs in the paint the fenders are unequal in the lines. The only thing that Ford has us on is the Diesel engine and the dually. Although Nissan has a diesel engine it needs to be available in the Titan.

Ford guys used to glare at me, but now that I see Titans on a regular basis (I pass at least 5 daily now) they seem to be less open about it now.

Or they've learned that the Titan will blow them away and wish they had one too.

I was a Ford man until I test drove the Titan. I even went back and re-test drove the Ford to make sure I didnt miss something. There was a vast difference between the 2. The Ford was nice, but the Titan just "felt" like a truck. The Ford didnt.

You can say that again about the paint run issues. I had that problem on three out of four fords that I owned. I hated that.

Fords are absolute garbage in build quality. I previously owned the F-150 and it was absolute $hit. I also owned for a brief time, a 2000 Mustang GT...on that POS, there was a gigantic gouge out of the edge of the metal where the cheesy, fake sidescoop was inserted into the side. So what did they do? They slapped it in anyway and painted right over it.

As for the trucks...my best buddy has an F-250 with the V-10. Last year, at 25K miles, it broke down on the side of the road.....why? Because it literally SHOT ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK...ONTO THE ROAD, AFTER BOUNCING AROUND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND STRIPPING THE THREADS IN THE BLOCK... And my buddy had (and still HAS), the nerve to rag on me about my Titan. Whenever he does, I bring up that story and it curiously has a way of making him shut up, especially if in front of our other friends. After using that story, I always end it with "Because at Ford, quality is job 1"

BTW, After giving my buddies a ride in my Titan...and they feel the way the thing just effortlessly scoots around in traffic...they walk away highly impressed and usually say if they had the choice between that and the new F150, they'd have chosen the Titan in a heartbeat....everyone except for my friend with the V-9 , SuperDuty Ford, that is....

Ooh! That's new ammo I'll use for him....I never called it a V-9 in front of him yet...I'll wait until his next "Jap truck" rant.

And let's not forget about the Ford's electrical problems. I had 3 of them in a row and every one of them had electrical issues. My last one was so bad that every time
I went into the dealership with it I made sure I had my fire extinguisher in my hand.
That made a real hit on the showroom floor. The guys in our office would call my truck ol' Smokey.

Maybe you haven't read up on the new F150s or don't know anyonw with one of the new ones, but the ride and fit and interior finish of the F150, and I'm sorry to have to say this, is far better than the Titans. Not having owned an F150, I can't speak for their overall quality but.....I see an awful lot of them still on the road. Can't be all bad. Powerwise, it can't compare to the Titan and I personally prefer the looks of the Titan. But build quality is far from being "absolute garbage". One bad experiance doean't a bad vehicle make.

1) So the fact that there are an awful lot of them on the road means what to my experiences? I don't remember stating that Fords were being prematurely taken off the road? My buddies V-10 shot a friggin spark plug straight out of the block and left him stranded on the side of the road...but it's still "on the road" after Ford fixed it.

2)I'd agree though....one bad experience doesn't a bad vehicle make (only not in the horrible spelling you submit)....only in my case, it was three F150 experiences on 3 separate vehicles. And if you count ALL the Fords that were once in my stable...it would then up the tally to: 7....how about 7....would that suffice?

3) When did I ever state that the interior of the Titan was superior to the new Fords? (just quote me, if you would).

4) Not only have I "read up" on the new F-150s...I test drove them no less than three times prior to purchasing the Titan.

5) Yeah, maybe in your case(s)...the build quality of Fords didn't seem to be "absolute garbage"...in mine...they were. End of story. However, when I bought them in the 1st place...I knew what I was getting....a cheap vehicle so you take the good with the bad. However, with the Titan...I ended up spending less with seemingly (knock on wood), much, much better build quality...but then again...it's an opinion isn't it? My opinon.

6) I'd definitely disagree that the fit/finish of the new F150 surpasses the Titan....maybe the interior looks nicer...but overall fit and finish? Not on your life.

I'm NOT into bashing one vehicle over another, but....

As a career technician who now teaches automotive, I often get asked
questions like "what do you think of Fords".

My standard reply is..... " I LOVE Fords. I pay my mortgage with them".

That usually slows people down a minute or two thinking about it.

BFT...

Well, I'm sorry you think your Ford is the best built on the road. And in your opinion it may be. But there's several previous Ford owners who disagree with you.

I think because Ford has so many trucks on the road, there's bound to be problems. It's not a bad truck, but it's not the best truck. I test drove the Ford-didn't care for it. No power, bouncy and way overpriced. And the dealer was like, it's a Ford, it should cost this much...??

You keep your Ford, and I'll keep my Titan.

Have you driven the Titan? If not, do so, then comment.

HAHA...this is just asinine. I have plenty of buddies who drive the 04/05 Fords...I'm quite familiar with the fit/finish of them. Stacking up to a BMW....haha. Get real. I've owned a few of those in my time too...and it's not even in the same league.

Fords being the best built trucks? Hmmm....could be? I guess just not in the previous 3 trucks I've owned....in addition to the 4 Ford cars...seems to defy the law of averages, but I'll stick to my opinion that they're junk. They've been in my cases.

I hate Fords but I've gotta ask because I just can't resist the temptation......Why did you keep buying them?
