thump under drivers side

i have a 2005 xe 4x4. i have been getting a thump under the driver's side whe i would let off the gas or when i would be slowly moving and let off the brakes. my dealer ship said they found a loose crossmember. well it has been 2 days later. the problem is still there. but now when i go over a bump or anything i feel it and hear it. does anyone have this same problem? any ideas of what i should check?

I don't know if this is your problem or not, it sounds like it could be the same thing..............good luck.

my problem sounds the same. but i hear it and feel it now everytime i go over a bump or a dip in the road. i saw a couple of people with the 05's found tranny bolts and transfer case bolts loose. i will try them. and then try shock mounts and stuff. the cool part is i work part time for advanced auto so i can get those spring helpers pretty cheap.

found loose bolts. for tranfercase

i read that a couple people found loose mounting bolts fot the tranny and stuff. well i looked under my truck today and found them. they were the two moutning bolts for the tranfer case to the bushing that bolts to a crossmember. the one was about 2 full turns loose. the other was all the way out and jammed between the crossmember and the tranfer case. so i said this is great. i am not touching them i am going to the dealer in the morning. after all i told them to check them. they said they did and they just found a loose crossmember. owell time to break a piece off in the morning.

stripped trans bolts.

just got back from the dealer. they said the bolts were stripped out. they had to tre-tap the holes ans replaced the bolts. so i hope they stay tight. i took pics but couldn't get them to insert to this. i am not good at sum computer stuff.

damn now I have to go check mine. I got a clunk that I can feel all the time when taking off or slowing down, and it's not the leaf springs, it does not matter how slow I accelerate or slow down, sometimes it even does it from a crawl to a stop.
