Nissan Announces price Increase

MSRP Increases for Nissan and Infiniti Vehicles [Apr. 29, 05]

GARDENA, CA (April 29, 2005) – Nissan North America, Inc. today announced price increases averaging 0.5 percent on its Nissan and Infiniti vehicles.

These modest price increases are in response to rising cost pressures that have continued to increase over the past few months. The decision to increase prices at this time was made several weeks ago. The new prices are effective beginning May 4, 2005.

The MSRP increases include all 2005 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles and the 2006 Infiniti M.

In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing. More information on Nissan in North America and the complete line of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles can be found online at www.NissanUSA.com and www.infiniti.com.

grrr... Oh well, I guess they could cite the rising fuel costs as a more "legitimate" reason. I hate the idea of raising your price because of the market peer pressure.

I thought I also read somewhere that the "foreign" manufactors were raising prices in an attempt to try and stablize the market share of the domestics. GM posted a very bad quarter as I recall.

Does this mean that dealers have to go around and change all the stickers for MSRP or is it just on vehicles leaving the plants as of May 4?

Thanks for the heads up.

I just copied this and emailed my dealer - asking him how this will effect me if at all. My truck has been ordered and is due sometime in June.

$30,000*0.5% = $30,000*0.5/100 = $30,000*0.005 = $150

Have the dealer throw in a pair of mudflaps or carpet mats and call it even...

Having a titan already, I think that's great. Wish they would go up 10%.

I may be crazy though.

Naw, you the man.

Good question about the increase, and whether the cars are on the lot will be affected?

They did it last year on the Titans built after 4/04. My Titan was built in 2/04 and did not have the base vehicle MSRP increase. I doubt it will affect any pre-May built vehicles. The base vehicle went up by $100 while they also increased prices on options slightly.

Same thing happened when I bought my Xterra in 2000. Right after I bought mine, the newer ones had all gone up by $300 for the exact same option package.

Nothing new, auto price increases are usually around April or May.

Have a good one.

I guess you just take your calculator with you and subtract that amount from your offer.
