CD Player

When playing my CD's they will from time to time "scratch". The sound is exactly like a record scratching. I rewind the track and it will not do it again. The CD's are clean, and they play normal sometimes (and on other players) but even when the truck is standing still they will "scratch". It's totally weird, it doesnt skip just sounds like a needle scratching a record.

Anybody else have this 1, or any advice?

CDs from the record store, or homemade CDs?

I've noticed that the 6-disc in dash (non rockford) Does a good job of mangling music burned from MP3s. I suspect it has something to do with either the quality of the media, or the program used to create them.

I get the same sound when I use cheap CD-R's. They work great in the Sentra, but sometimes "electroscratch" in the Titan. Spend a little more cash for some quality CD-R's.

I've experienced it on both, I believe. Most of them are burned (sorry RIAA) but you got me second guessing. I'll listen to some store bought (who buys cd's anymore?) and check it out.

Off topic then, what are good quality cd-r's ? I've been using memorex.

Memorex cds are usually very good quality. I'd guess that the cd's probably aren't the problem.

I still buy CD's that are sold by the music industry, and the quality of the discs has declined as of late.

Are they the new "copy proof" CDs? Some of those aren't red book standard.

Good cds = Japanese made Fuji's. That's pretty much the ONLY cdr that serious music traders will use.
