windshield wiper useless

I dont know if anyone has noticed or if its just me, but i hate the way nissan setup the windshield wiper speeds. It was sprinkling today, and i turned on my wipers to setting 1, and the wipers were EXTREMELY slow, it would wipe wait 20sec then wipe again. USELESS. so i decide to change it to speed 2. WTF!?! its too fast. It wipes, waits 2 seconds then wipes again. theres no setting in between. This is a feature i hate extremely. Anyone else notice this or just me. Any fix?

ummm... The appropriate choice would be to select the third intermittent setting! Or use the Mist function and control it manually.

Can't you set it to the intermittent setting then adjust the delay to suit?

Mine has 5 different settings for the intermittent wipers. One usually works.

I'm with ya imjustdamngood. I can never find the exact right setting for sprinkling. I end up just pressing it manually most of the time.

I think you can even set it between the detents on the intermittent dial for even more settings.

For the noise issue try replacing the blades with new ones.

Apparently the intermittent wiper settings have a "speed sensitive" capability:

Speed Sensitive Wipers..

I find that the speed is ok....what I hate is that the passenger side squirter squirts kinda off to the side. The dealership told me that they haven't tinkered with that part of a truck yet so they don't know how to fix it!?!!

as mentioned before here and other threads about the same thing, there are 3 or 4 detents and then you can set it inbetween the detents as well. this gives you more options as far as speed is concearned.

Inside each housing for the "squirter" there are two nozzles. Take a pin or a needle and gently poke it inside the nozzle and re-aim it. Squirt, and then repeat till you get it right.

This it how it's done.. I've even seen a graphic of it somewhere.. either the owner's manual or the tech manual... but I've seen it.

aim high at a standstill just so you cover a bit of the roof because at speed wind will pull it back onto the windshield

Yes, that is correct. They are variable speed wipers. You can adjust them anywere inbetween the detents for more variation on the speeds.

I am with you. If you are going 65mph and have rain-x you don't even need to turn on the wipers. Got to love that stuff.
